i am 36 weeks today by midwife dates - based on 28 day cycle. my cycle is 22 days so i think that mkes me 37 weeks tommorow. why dont they allow for people with diff cycles?? evenon 20 wwek scan i was 20 6 days putting me closer to my dates. which would you go by, reason i ask is ds1 was born at 36 weeks and ds2 was born at 37 weeks.

Hi, the scan dates will be more accurate than cycle dates - not sure why the mw is not basing your dates using the scan results rather than lmp.

It could just be an oversight, it can be easy to make an error on those little wheel things, I've corrected my midwife before. I would go by the date you have been given on scan and just double check with her next time.

she knows about the scan been a little further on but unless is 2 weeks difference they dont change your dates. so midwife and scan date is due date of 28th where as i get 21/22 sept ( so does mumsnet calculator )

i would go by the midwifes dates.
that way if you happen to go over you won't get pushed fopr induction so quickly

I think because there is only a matter of 6/7 days in it I wouldn't worry too much.

I think it would only be a problem if they were predicting you being earlier than you thought - that way they may have been talking about inducing when you felt it wasn't necessary.

This way round if the baby comes by your dates you'll be prepared anyway. If it comes by their dates there is no harm done either way.

Good luck anyway - not long now!

I agree with thisisyesterday, i went early with my first two but over with ds2 and with induction looming i was very grateful the hospitals dates were a bit behind mine

thanks everyone, yeah thats the thing i was thinking about if i was late. god i hope not!! i was 3 and 4 weeks early with the other 2. think i am just clutching at straws and wanting it to be sooner rather than later. i am 2/5 engaged so maybe it wont be long. i am terrible at waiting, i also like to be in control of everything so this "waiting" is a nightmare !!!! bubba will come when bubba is ready
