Hi

EDD May 9th. Woke up today feeling really fed up, has lasted all day. Been snapping at my 2½ year old and even a trip to the midwife to hear baby's heartbeat etc didn't cheer me up. I presume it's just the blues but nice to have some sympathy - I'm sure dh thinks I'm just crazy!!

Hi Spilla hang in there it shouldn't be much longer. I know this is an annoying saying but it will be worth it in the end. I went 10 days over, went into hospital where they tried to induce me for 4 days and eventually had DS by c section as he didn't wanna come out. I'm sure that won't happen to you but even if it did trust me when you see that bundle in your arms you will forget about all the waiting. I have been a mum now for 11 weeks and i wonder when i will get the chance to be fed up and bored EVER again! But all the same lovin it!HTH

Hi

my EDD is also on the 9th of May .... and last night I thought I was going into labour, but it was only the chickpeas giving me stomach cramps and some wishful thinking. I try to keep myself busy ... monday friends over for lunch( who knows when I will see them once baby is here, I find you spend you first couple of weeks just feeding and sleeping), tuesday reflexology appointment, etc... so lets hang in there ... not long to go now.

Hi Logic,

yes thanks, I'd love to join the due in May thread ...have 2 Dd, but they are 12 and 13, so takes the pressure off feeling like you constantly need entertain, chase, feed, sooth, etc ... just joined mumsnet cause all my friends are talking teenage problems,so it feels really comforting to read through the April thread .... I have no strechmarks, but my right calf has turned completely blue/purple from varicose veins ... so I know that feeling when you go into the pool and people look at you like you are some leper, and I guess the pubic hairs that are sticking out from your bathing suit add to the sorry picture ....

Hi PF,

You made me laugh ... honestly enjoy this quiet time you have, only 2.5 weeks to go, besides, if your EDD is on the fourth, if baby comes anytime now, I guess that should be fine .... you could always lie on the sofa till next Monday and then go for a walk (I find giving birth on the weekend is not so great, cause there seems to be less staff around)...also read all those trashy novels you wanted to read, otherwise if your brain is in babymode like mine, read all those books on breastfeeding (if thats what you want to do), sleep patterns etc, phone your friends and get them to come over and make you cups of tea .... no I know these last couple of weeks are BORING, BORING, BORING, but not long to go now

Totally agree everyone. I have trained ds to climb in and out of the car this week (he's 2 1/4) cos I just cannot carry him any more (or bend down, turn over in bed, stand up etc. etc.). This waiting stage is just so boring, isn't it. I've got one week today officially, but I know that baby will come in the first week of May!

Come join us on the May thread!

OMG Claudi - I was 12 & my brother was 13 when our brother was born. Strange that someone else has the same weird family! I am much much closer to my little brother than my big one!

Thanks fisil,

Makes me feel a lot better, since being that far apart you obviously wonder how they will bond ... ..and giving birth well it will be a whole new experience again HA!
