I normally have my babies at Frimley hospital which is not my catchment but only a few mile out and they have had no trouble taking me before. But now my midwife has said it has lost its funding and will not accept me.

Is there anything i can do??? Im not going anywhere else and i told her that. Said dhe would have to c-section me at home before i would go to reading hospital.

Just say you were shopping nearby or visiting relatives when you went into Labour and came to the nearest hospital!!!

Have you spoken to your GP. I thought you could go to any hospital in the area. I had mine at Frimley but was told that there was also a hopsital in Guildford or Reading.

It's a similar situation in Croydon. You can get your GP to get you accepted at the hospital of your choice if it is detrimental to your health to go elsewhere. A friend got her GP to get her accepted at a hospital outside of Croydon by saying it would cause her mental anguish (or something) to go to Mayday.

i was just wondering what area you live in. I live in Reading and have had both my babies there. Not really sure why you are objecting so much to going to Reading, is there a reason?

CP3, are you in Reading ? Iff you're located there or near the M4 and really don't want to go there waht about the Great Western Hospital in Swindon ? It's only just over a year old, and less than 5 minutes off of Junct 15 of the M4 (except in rush hour of course !!)
