probably normal discharge, but worth contacting your MW to get it checked out just in case.

I too had this from about 18 wks on. I think it lasted about 4 weeks and was certainly quite disconcerting and embarrassing. My m/w said it was normal for this extra discharge as long as it didn't have an odour. It has changed now and is much easier to live with. It just seemed to stop and in fact it is only reading this that I remembered how bad it was for a while. HTH

Ooooh, exciting stuff. My show was a bit like what you describe more like waters dribbling out than the mucous plug they describe. Fingers crossed and good luck.

Ooh Starshaker, it could be your waters...when I had ds mine just dribbled out...felt like I was wetting myself abit, but quite consistantly...didn't notice the 'plug' you're supposed to get at all, and it was odourless from what I remember...took me by surprise coz I was expecting a big gush not a dribble Good luck if it is...let us know how you get on, x.

Hi starshaker had the same a few weeks ago, not waters but not wee either . Just told to keep an eye on it.

Glad your okay tho!

I had it for a few weeks as well before ds was born. I noticed it more in the morning and it increased as the weeks went by. It didn't show up to be amniotic fluid in the tests. My waters broke at 37+ weeks, so it could be thing starting for you!!!

i just wish they could tell me what it is would make me feel better. feel quite sore and crampy after they gave me an internal at hosp. just feel let down and drained now thought that was it yesterday but it was disapointing to find out it wasnt

Oh poor you. How frustrating. It really won't be long now though I am sure. I was really shocked by how uncomfortable my internal examination was when they checked my waters last time too. I didn't feel I could say anything as I just imagined them saying 'You thought that hurt ha wait for the contractions'. (Of course they wouldn't but you know what I mean).
All the best and make sure you rest and look after yourself.

starshaker - I had this from about 36wks - to the extent that it would run down my leg sometimes. Turned out to be just an inrease in normal discharge. Eventually gave birth at 39+2 (2 days ago!)

ive had kind of the same for a couple of weeks , try not to worry. If it turns to thrush which mine did then you will know, and I found that practicing holding my pelvic muscles helped a bit.
Ive got a reallyt embarrassing question...do you think there is a chance that you wouldnt notice your waters breaking? I heard a pop in the night and when I got out I had a really long wee which was quite orange. Do you think I should ignore it cos it sounds really silly and Im a bit worried about your experiences with an internal

Good luck with you

i think u would be better off seeing about it better safe than sorry. ive heard a lot of people say that when there waters broke they heard a pop. the internal was uncomfy but i knew it had to be done just to make sure baby was ok. let us know what happens

i had a similar experience - mw said could be as the baby's so big that its squeezing every drop out of bladder! i would just mention it tho. it happened with dd2 and ds2 and it was only few days later that i had them!

Report
KathH · 26/03/2005 16:28

also i worried i wouldnt know if waters had broken as with dd1 and dd2 they did it at the hospital but with ds1 and ds2 my god there was no doubt when it happened - with ds1 i was sat on my bed at the time - had to tell dh that the first thing he had to do when he got back home was change the bedclothes and sort out the mattress!
