Vaginal varicose veins and sex - okay or a big no no?

Not for me, as I'm not pg, but a friend who is too embarrassed to ask her mw . I have no idea, not having suffered from them so I thought I'd ask you lot!

I know they are fine for labour etc so long as not really, really bad but what about sex? Quite a lot of friction going on there...is it safe? Does it risk bursting them? Or is it in fact good for them since increased bloodflow means less pooling of blood?

have had two children and didn't know you could get these - I knew about the piles, but not vaginal ones.

I have these...they're just grrrrreat. .

Doctor looked at them when I was about 14 weeks as I couldn't quite work out what they were, didn't know they could occur there either!

Said no reason not to have sex, but it was too uncomfortable anyway.

So no danger of them popping or anything then .

I'll let her know, thank you.
