Headaches and Feeling Ill- How Much Is Normal?

I am 29 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. DS was born last August at 29+5.

Lastnight I started with headaches- feeling pressure by my temples and having a constant feeling of nausea.

I woke up this morning feeling the same, but now my head almost feels like its going to explode and Im feeling lots of pressure at either side of my head. Ive eaten a good breakfast this morning, but feel very sick.

Baby is moving fine, and my MW check-up last Wednesday showed no problems. At what point should I start worrying? I dont have any other symptoms, only thick white discharge that hasnt appeared for a few weeks until this morning.

Am I worrying over something and nothing?

Hello there...I'm 10+4 and have been suffering from headaches (exactly like the temple pressure you describe). I also have the all-day nausea but I'm beginning to get used to that.

For me, I think the big problem is dehydration, esp with the retching and sickness. I don't like the taste of anything so am finding it hard to find things to drink a lot of...could this be the same for you?

Sorry you haven't had much response here. I don't really know what to suggest, but if you are worried then do phone your midwife. Did you suffer from pre-eclampsia with last pregnancy?

My waters broke last time at home and when I was admitted my blood pressure was sky high, so I guess that could have been the on-set of pre-eclampsia. My Mum suffered from it terribly when she was pregnant with me.

Are there any painkillers safe to take other than paracetamol? We have no paracetamol left at home!

As far as I know only paracetamel.

Have you contacted your midwife as headaches can be a sign of high blood pressure. Either that or call your maternity unit for some advice.

I sometimes have headaches (am 30 weeks with dc3), but usually if I am tired or dehydrated.

im 32 weeks and felt exactly the same for about a week, had to go to hosp to get checked for pre eclampsia as i also had 'visual disturbances' all was ok. Saw MW today and she said as long as i wasnt dehydrated then it was just hormones and nothing i could do. She said with regards to pain killers id have to speak to doc to get them to prescribe something stronger and that would prob be co codamol. Havent had chance to ring doc yet.. I sympathise though
