Bleed at 28 weeks plus strong BH - how likely is baby to put in an early appearance?

To cut a long story short, I had a small bleed last weekend, got checked out on labour ward but they couldn't really see a reason for it so they said to come back if it happened again but otherwise just take it a little bit easier for the next few weeks. Since then, I've had no more bleeding but really strong (to the point of being a bit painful rather than uncomfortable) BH contractions. Has anyone else had this and gone on to deliver early or am I being overly paranoid?

TIA

Hi georgiepig, I am not at the delivery stage yet (am 34 weeks) but have had 2 small bleeds in the past week and been checked out and everything was ok thy said there was an erosion (TMI) on my cervix but have also had some pains they seem to go away if i rest. I can totally sympathise with you it is worrying to bleed at any stage, hope you and your lo is ok. Sorry not really answering your question.

Hi both, hope you're ok. Have had bleeding throughout second trimester, has magically stopped now, anyhoo, I had something similar re. strong and more frequent BH and Doctor said it was because the womb was irritated and therefore more reactive. As to going on to deliver I'm sorry I don't know, we haven't - the ward don't mind how often you get checked out, worth it for your peace of mind. Good luck

Thanks for your replies Mumeny - I read your thread in the prem section - I hope you're ok and lo hangs in there. I have had a little bit more bleeding but I think it's old stuff - (brown rather than bright red - sorry if TMI) but have had a lazy day today so BH have settled down. Makes sense about womb being irritated - I hadn't thought of that.

ellielou - I had read about cervical erosion but no evidence of this for me when they had a look. Hope your lo hangs in there for a few more weeks too
