I had a weekend sweep.
I had three in all with ds1 and two with DS2.
There should be a midwife on duty at the weekends and I think they like to do them so many days before your due date / induction so i think they would do in most cases.

Biglips I knew this would be you! My MW said she doesn't like doing them before 40+6, because these things only really work if you are on the way to being ready anyway, so it's a waste of time rushing it.

i do believe it best to have them at 41+ weeks. I thought ill give it a go and see what happens.

ive got a midwife app this afternoon.

Do come back and tell me how it went, I have my sweep booked for tomorrow but I am getting seriously nervous about being so overdue (40+5 today).

lollipop i went 10 days over with DS1 (just managed to squeeze him out for i was induced) and a week over with DS2. But it is awful being overdue, you just want them to arrive....you have my sympathy!

Biglips - I tried hard to get her out on the 5th because my DPs birthday is the 5th of Jan, and we thought it'd be cute for her to be born on the 5th of the month too, as myself and my dad were both born on 28th of our respective months. Now I'm wondering whether I could get her out on 10.09.08, as that'd be cool, but then my DP says we'll probably end up having a 9-11 baby! So basically, I'm just as sad as you, probably more-so actually!
