Hair removal in pregnancy...

Hi
Any help and advice welcome..
I am having a nightmare with hair removal, I have always hated shaving, i find it tedious and boring!!! I moved onto waxing but then found i was spending a lot on legs, underarms and bikini so i bought an epilater, this has brought a few problems-mainly ingrowing hairs (bikini area! Nice!) Used creams, mitts also...
Since being pregnant i have used the cream only to have got a rash and bad itching, so went back to the mitt and shaving but again these are leaving a rash and terrible itching.
I know my skin is more sensative in pregnancy but its driving me mad..
Im thinking of going back to salon and having wax but am i just going to be faced with same problems?
I dont suppose there is an easy answer to that, but have you noticed a difference in hair removal since being pregnant?

My skin is definitely more sensitive when pregnant - unfortunately am also more hairy when pregnant, so waxing (though more painful than usual) is the only way forward...

that's interesting about skin being more sensitve. i wondered what was going on. every time i shaved under my arms, it's given me a horrid, itchy rash, so i've given up. as for bikini line, i'm letting mine grow. since i can't even see it, let alone reach it, what's to worry...

Do people find they are hairier? My bikini line and legs seem to be hairier, quicker, and now I have a little line of hair from the top of my panty line up to my belly button! Which is a bit weird as have never had that before in my life!

Will it go away again after baby is born?

Also, when did people have their final wax before the birth? Can having a painful wax bring on labour? Silly questions I know, but have been thinking of when to have my next wax based on how many more I need before the big day. And yes I know I know you will all say you don't care when you are giving birth - it's the last thing on your mind etc etc - but I want my lady garden in order, personally.

Thanks!

I've been using immac sporadically on bikini and shaving legs (can't reach bikini line to shave) but I must stress I have barely done it since I got big! I've had horrible ingrown hairs all the way through this pregnancy. I look like a beast

Boobz - my friend had a bikini and leg wax when she was 3 days overdue - if your pain threshold is high enough, you can have it whenever. I gave up waxing in last few weeks of last pregnancy as found it way too painful. If you are having a bikini line wax get them to wax the top of your lady garden down in case you need an emergency C-s (as waxing is way better than a nurse with a Bic razor according to all of my friends who ended up with C-sections)

If your skin is more sensitive/you can't reach/can't lie on your back to get waxed.....You could try giving yourself a trim with your DP's electric razor?

Is that very gross? should I have name changed for that?

I only ever wax I'm afraid - trimming or shaving doesn't really cut it - if you'll excuse the pun!

I didn't know that about the skin getting more sensitive! I guess that explains the itchy shaving rash I've got--I thought something was wrong with my razor, but couldn't see that anything was different, so was a bit perplexed by the bumpy rash on backs of thighs and inner thighs/bikini line!
