Am 26 weeks pregnant and it started a month or so ago with the under side of my upper arm and side of one of my breasts feeling quite tender but now pain in breast gone but got a general ache in my upper arm and my shoulder not painful just not pleasant and can't seem to find any info in any books. Been to Dr but he was no help said because there is no lump or rash there is nothing much for him to go on. Just wondering if anyone else had any symptoms like this?

only thing I can think of with regards to pain/aching in arm is problems with ulna nerve which can happen during pregnancy.

hopefully someone else can come along to advise

Hi there! Arm, shoulder or back pain can be referred pain from the diaphragm. A common cause of this is cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation), which is very common during pregnancy. If you find that you're nauseated or vomiting, don't write it off as just being pregnant. I had back and shoulder pain in my 1st pregnancy that was misdiagnosed for about 10 weeks until I had a gallbladder abscess and pancreatitis. Hopefully, your arm and shoulder pain is nothing, but I'd hate for someone else to go through what I went through. Also, arm and should pain CAN be a sign of heart attack, even in someone young. If you're out of breath (who isn't while pregnant) remind your doctor about that one too!

Best wishes for a continued healthy pregnancy!

Julie
