Hi Everyone,

I was due on Feb 16th and have tried almost everything to bring this baby on (pineapple, curry etc). Because my first baby was on time, I really thought this one would follow the trend.

Is there anyone out there that knows of any other old wives tales. I'm really getting fed up now and want my baby to arrive.

Paula

I know it's hard but do make the most of your time before No2 arrives. It sooooooo much harder with two compared to one. Not much longer now. hang in there! xx Good Luck x

Best of luck. I really know how you feel as ds was 16 (count 'em) days late. In the end I resigned myself to a life of being pregnant. Hope it all moves for you soon.

Have you tried rasberry leaf tea? That's suppose to get things going.

I drank raspberry leaf tea and took the tablets for my first, and that didn't seem to do a thing, so I haven't bothered with this pregnancy. Maybe I should try again ? Thx

Well nipple tweaking and sex are meant to bring on labour? Personally I think my DP would have a heart attack at the thought of me trying to initiate sex at 38wks.

sorry got a bit long!!!!
hi paula,
i'm not officially over due yet, (period dd was 17th, but scan date is 20th) but as i am a vbac my consultant is not keen on induction, would rather do another cs, and to be honest so would i, as don't want to have long horrible labour, forceps and epidural etc, only really want to labour naturally if has good chance of being straightford and successful.
i am currently taking maximum reccommended dose of raspberry leaf extract (2x400mg 3 times a day) also 4x evening primrose oil 500mg per day (and am going to try popping in a capsule near my cervix when i go to bed tonight, have been using my electric breast pump for about 1/2 hour a day, hot water bottle on one breast whilst massaging the other nipple, (i only stopped bf 5 months ago so my nipples are still quite tough, but using a breast pump may make you sore if your not careful, which would not be a good start to bf if your little one does put in an appearance)
and am waiting for weather to clear up so can go for some long walks, am also trying to keep upright as much as possible to keep the head pressing on my cervix, and having sex every day!!!
don't think i really sound too desperate!!!!
oh and am booked for acupuncture on tuesday to help ripen cervix or/and induce labour naturally, aparantly that has about an 8/10 sucess rate so at least they may be able to perform a sweep at my next app with consultant on weds.
don't know for sure if any of these things work, but i'm gonna keep trying!!!!!
good luck to you!!
jody

Read in a magazine last night that rubbing at the base of your big toe can bring on labour as it's an accupressure spot, well I rubbed away and my waters broke this morning at 6.25am!! Have no idea if it was the rubbing though!

the bog toe spot you have been rubbing is the hypothalamus/ pituitary... a reflexology point rather than an acupoint.

its one of the points to vigorously stimulate when doing an inducement technique using reflexology.

glad it seems to have had an effect!
