Just found out I am pregnant!

Hello. I found out yesterday that I am pregnant, and just need to talk really as I have only told my DH so far. I am just in shock, and panicking now! This was unplanned and quite sudden. I am breastfeeding, which we stupidly took as contraception for 6 months and I had just started taking the mini pill. My daughter is now 7 months old. I am worried how I will cope looking after her 24/7 at the same time as being pregnant. My last pregnancy, I was very ill with and I have already been sick a couple of times this time round and generally feel extremly tired (Like I could just fall asleep on the floor outside in the rain, given the chance!).

Worried as to if I will get any maternity allowance or anything? My Maternity just ran out for DD and I handed in my notice so have now left my current job (would have gone back temporarily if I had known!).

Is it ok to breastfeed when I am pregnant? What about when baby is born? Is it possible to still breastfeed a 1 year old, and a newborn? I would probably put DD onto cows milk at christmas, when she turns 1 anyway, but want to look at options.

Doesn't help I am working so much at the mo ( a nanny and Usborne books organiser).I am at the nanny job now, kids are both asleep so have temp access to internet).

So much is going on at the moment, this has really come at a bad time. But on the other hand, I know I will be happy eventually.

I breast feed my dd1 until a few weeks before dd2. dd1 was older than your dd before I go pregnant, but don't worry about continuing to bf. I think your milk changes to suit your littlest one so your dd may go off the taste.

it will be hard but am sure it will be worth it. i was bf when i conceived this pregnancy when my ds was 10 months.
you will not be entitled to your employer paying your maternity allowance but will be entitled to the government one, SMP?
I continued to bf during my pregnancy and it is possible that you can still bf lo when newborn arrives.
i am sure there will be someone along shortly who tandem feeds two lo of different ages.
bf is usually good as a contraception if you are exclusively bf, once the gaps in between feeds get bigger the protection declines so if you are not dfeeding in the night or not so much then that is why you ovulated.
take care and congratulations.

Thank you for the advice.

I will review the situation about BF DD when we get closer to the time, maybe I will start giving her a cup on milk once a day or something to start with, and see how she goes.

God just can't believe I am going to have another one! lol. 2 under 18months? My fried with a DD the same age as mine is pregnant, and i thought she was completly mad!!

Right, so I guess I need to get a doctors appointment? I can't remember what I did before!
