If you are anything like me, spend the next 11 months kicking it out of the way, and doing this face at dp whenever he says 'look you're never going to use that thing, can we just deflate it now?'

I brought it while pg and planned to use it after the birth as well, to 'regain my core muscles'

It is currently lurking under the dining room table behind me, unused and unloved, a little like those 'core muscles' tbh.

You can lean over it as a comfier alternative to kneeling on all fours to try to get baby in a good position for birth.

Not much use in early pregnancy but once you are getting bigger and heavier it's brilliant - lean over it to take the weight off your back, bounce around on it watching TV when you are too fidgety to sit still anywhere else, and lean against it to give your back a good stretch.

I lean over mine - rest my arms on it so it is just in front of the bump iyswim? Also great for sitting on.

I did 3000 bounces (yes I counted it was 1am and I was soooooo bored!) on it, waters popped about an hour later, DS2 born two hours after that!

I'm sitting on mine at my computer, and sometimes watching telly. And a few times kneeling and leaning with my crossed arms under my head on it.

Although the physio's one which is more expensive and thicker rubber feels comfier because it's more squishy - I can sit on her 75cm 'Gymnastic' one fine but had to get rid of my 75cm Reebok one from Argos because it was too big - the 65cm one also needed a lot of air out before it was squishy enough to sit on.

Have around 4-5 weeks to go - tempted to splash out on a better ball (not sure where from) and deflate this one. MrNC and my dad enjoyed playing with it, and Squirmy probably will too in due course...

I do hip circles on mine to loosen up my stiff back. I've been going to Pregnancy Pilates aswell, where I've learnt other exercices.

Have a look too at www.homeexercisecoach.com/home-workout.html
