Feeling bit run down, not sure if it's virus, or just end pg niggles, been feeling bit like this for ten days or so and worried about going into labour feeling under par. Any ideas how to boost myself? Had v.busy few days and sleeping is just not happening. Also, sorry if tmi but if I have thrush does this have negative impact on natural delivery? Thanks for advice

You can treat the thrush with canestan cream - you should treat it because even though it's not dangerous, it is unpleasant and if the baby catches it during the birth, it can transfer back to you during breastfeeding which is then very painful.

Try taking a supplement such as floradix - iron and vitamins - and eat well. Also try and exercise, walking and swimming are good, and may help you sleep better. Hope you are feeling better soon!

sorry you are feeling so rough. These last few weeks are very tough, but not long to go now thankfully

Have you seen the GP? You should be able to clear the thrush up by your due date, and I'm sure there is a tonic or something you could take to boost your immune system a bit. Not sure about the impact of thrush on the baby during delivery though. someone will be along soon who has more info I'm sure.

Hi bootus
I was feeling just like this last week. I think I was putting myself under pressure to get lots done before the LO arrives and then worrying I wouldn't be fit and well for labour. I think my body was telling me to slow down. I took it easy for a couple of days (naps in the afternoon to make up for lost night time sleep etc), had some long baths and now I'm feeling much better. Treating thrush as belgo suggests will also help you feel much better.

I also got some aromatherapy oils for massage - mandarin and lavender mixed together helped me feel a bit more relaxed and get a good night's sleep. Reflexology good too.

Hope you start to feel a bit better soon

Thanks so much for you kind words. I'm glad you're feeling better Minimarmite. Have been treating the thrush but I'm quite prone to it and it seems to keep reoccuring. I may book in for reflexology session....love the sound of it. xx

So sorry you're unwell. Try some acidophilus in a probiotic pearl form. Also try avoiding gluten, dairy, yeast and sugar for awhile until the thrush clears up. Problems with candida can cause thrush and avoiding the things that feed candida (aka yeast)usually clear it up quickly. It is a great time to get rid of candida before baby comes as it is likely that baby will have the same problems as you. Look into candida treatments though be careful of the anti yeast pills because they are not safe during pregnancy. Probiotics are safe and many midwives recommend them even, especially to avoid problems like beta strep. Hope you feel better soon!
