Anyone had a sudden rush of emotions before birth or has DH slipped me something in my tea?

Has anyone experienced a rush of emotions before childbirth? Am 37 weeks now and starting to look for signs lol.

I have woken up this morning deliriously happy - and I mean deliriously. I am calm, on top of the world, cant wait to meet my baby, worries have all gone etc etc. If you could bottle this feeling I would be a billionnaire.

Nothing has changed since yesterday. Up until yesterday I have been a miserable grumpy sod. Have had a really rough difficult pregnancy and am still being sick. I have been sick twice today already, didnt sleep well as usual last night, painful to walk etc etc - yet am so so happy.

Am currently sitting in my office in work grinning to myself and confusing everyone with my sudden change in emotions.

So either DH has slipped me something in my sleep or perhaps I am finally blooming lol.

Anyone else had sudden happy bursts? Would love to think its because baby is getting ready to be born but am not getting my hopes up!

It's the nesting phase. You will want to make everything perfect and be incredibly happy, could be a while yet though. My 'nesting phase' with DD lasted 2 months and I ran out of skirting boards to clean

Lol- I nested with DS and it started from about 20 weeks lol. Have been nesting ridculously over the weekend - we now have our tins all nice and straight in the cupboards. Cannot remember ever being this happy last time though!

yes! I was like this - I actually cried with happiness twice, once when pinning out teeny snowy baby gros on the washing line in may sunshine with apple blossom falling all around, and once when putting DS's tiny new rabbit toy in his un-slept-in cot, a week before he was due.

I carried on feeling delirious and bonkers for about a week after I gave birth.

It may have been hormones - or just the relief of stopping work!

My DH did do a couple of diy jobs yesterday that have neeeded doing for literally years (never marry a builder they do nothing at home). Im thinking maybe its the relief of that lol.

Have now stop being deliriously happy and giggly and and just chilled out. Am going to make the most of it I think...

Pruners - you've described it exactly for me. Kind of like a runners high and feeling very relaxed but kind of buzzing.

Have been having braxton hicks all afternoon - no pain but think body is going in the right direction!
