I've just started my Maternity Leave today and it feels soooooooo good!
(23 Posts)I've got that friday feeling! Anyone else starting Maternity leave and care to join me and share some ideas/ have a chin wag in the time before D-Day?
Oooh, I'm envious , I've still got a 3 weeks and a day
.
Enjoy it. I'm nearly 8 months into mine. It goes soooooooo quickly.
oh I was like you this time last year! Up to 12 months off woot!
When did you leave (pregnancy week wise?) Lucky you - mines not till 17th Oct!
I'll be 34 weeks this weekend babylove. How many weeks are you now? Just started on the spring cleaning now. Sort of early nesting but I've got a strange feeling baby might be early and I'm feeling I've left things a bit late, we are only just getting the nursery together!
Enjoy! I started mine in May and dd is now 7 weeks old. I really wish I had had more lie ins as I made myself get up before 9am each day! Have loads of long baths, read books and watch films - I wish I had!!! Also do loads with dh - Go out for meals and day trips. Good luck x
mine ends next week.
It flys by
Hi Elli, I start ML in....30 minutes, so excited!!!
Have just booked the hairdresser for next Tuesday and Weds is my birthday so I'm going to pamper myself, lovely!
What are your plans?
Sorry about those of you who are getting ready to go back to work, you'll have to start eyeing up your DP's up again and getting those lady gardens pruned!
Some good ideas there Laura, you can never have too many lie ins! I'll pass on the baths though, I got stuck in mine last week so luckily my Dp was home otherwise I'd still be sitting in it! Hpw long are you taking off?
Backgammon wahey! It's a great feeling isn't it! You've just reminded me I need to book the hairdressers too. Are you off anywhere nice for your birthday? When are you due? I'm planning to spend my time spring cleaning the house, I'm actually looking forwards to doing it, sad I know. I'll be shopping for a pram on wednesday with my mam and I'm going to catch up with some friends for lunch some time next week.
LOL! I remember getting stuck in the bath!
Yes, getting stuck in the bath was not nice. Showers for me from now on!
Its amazing how much can happen in such a short space of time.
Nine months ago I was like you, excited and full of anticipation.
I know you've probably heard it a thousand times and are bored of hearing it, but enjoy every moment as it really does fly by.
Hiya,
I'm due next Saturday [nutter to be working this late!] Nothing planned for my birthday really except dinner with DH - didn't think there was much point making any big plans for the week I'm due just in case...
Yes I started today at 5pm! So glad as had really bad nights sleep last night (i.e. not much) so didn't enjoy dragging myself to work.
I am due at the end of aug' and thought I would work till mid aug' but have definately made the right decision.
Wow - congrats to you starting maternity leave!
Im 24 weeks, leaving when i'll be 37/38 weeks but have got 2 weeks hol so it'll be more 35/36 - looking forward to it!
I've got to the stage where i cant sit up on my own - got lodged in the bath too, lol.
Yes I am using annual leave for two weeks also. Spent weekend doing ridiculous amount of house re-organising with boyfriend, so did hips in. Luckily we have bought a 'Lay-z Spa' for a waterbirth so we could go and sit in it last night, which was lovely, especially as I knew I wouldn't be getting stressed about being too tired to get to work in the morning!
Enjoy it!! With DD I left work at 35 weeks expecting a few weeks of lazing around. She had other ideas and appeared a week later . Hadn't packed my bag or anything as thought she'd def be late being a first baby etc...
Another jealous one here
I have had exactly a year off today and go back in about 5 weeks - my god it has flown by.
Sleep and read. I miss doing both.
today is my first day back after 14 months off!!
Not bloody doing anything though as they havent sorted out my logins despite multiple reminder emails from me over the last few weeks. Nothing has changed clearly. ...
Loved my maternity leave just before i had DD1.
I was working 50 miles from my home and had to commute on 2 trains a day so would end up being out of the house for up to 13hrs a day!
Not having to go back to work was heaven!
It was April and i spent most days going for walks and sitting in a lovely glade, having naps when i wanted to.
Dreamed about that whilst at work and also could eat at my leisure and not try and rush for the measly half and hour lunch they allowed us.
Enjoy it as long as you can, until the real work starts
I finish at 5.30 today and can't bloody wait. I handed over my workload a couple of weeks ago so I've been whiling the days away on MN!
I'm only 36 weeks but have decided to take my remaining holidays up until my due date of the 1st September. At one point I thought I would work right up to my due date but changed my mind a couple of months ago when sitting for long periods behind a desk together with early mornings after a c**p nights sleep became too much!
Apart from packing my hospital bag I've got most things sorted so it'll be a case of putting my (very swollen) feet up and enjoying the next few weeks!
i have been off sick for the past 4 weeks due to severe asthma in pregnancy i will be 34 weeks on wednesday and i am going nuts with the boredom. However today i suddenly started getting really tired, and i think im about to bget the tiredness everyone talks about as i havent been sleeping so well. but saw some photos of me and i am porking it on so can anyone help with suggestions to keep me entertain rather than watching crap tv and eating everything in the house???
