have tried various pillow positioning but not helping my hips and back. Didnt get a pillow thing with ds but think i need one now!

I dont want one that is like sleeping with an extra person in the bed ( i hardly get any room as it is) I like the look of a new one that is out and quite small and encourages you to lay on your left side but i just cant sleep on that side. Can you still use it on your right? May have to see a pic to understand what i mean

honestly the ones that are like sleeping with an extra person are the BEST! it transformed my sleep. now my DS is 11 months and i still secretly want mine and i've got no bump! (only flab....)
i got the mothercare one; it's about £20. Sure, your DP won't have much room left in the bed, but hey!

Do you mean the Dream Genii? It's kind of apostrophe shaped ... I have one and it's quite good, though it's quite thin and really really comfy to sleep on on your back

Hi there, I have the dream Genii and found it to be really good until about 32 weeks when I found it made it even harder for me to turn over in bed (but I have a bit of a problem with my hip so need a slightly different pillow arrangement at the moment). Would definitely recommend it as it saves having 5 normal pillows!

silvermum- I agree! I loved the huge long on when I was pregnant, it made night times bearable. I carried on sleeping with it for a while I think after ds was born (until he came into our bed on a permanent basis!). I also used it for breasfeeding.
Mine was about £40 from the ActiveBirth Centre, but sooo worth it.
I keep trying to lend it to pregnant friends as it was bliss!

I would also say that the long pillows are the best - I've borrowed one from my sister so couldn't tell you the make.

However, first of all I tried one from John Lewis that had lots of tiny beads inside it (like a bean bag!). I just thought I should mention that I really didn't like this (and it was about £40!) and so took it back - I didn't find it comfortable at all.

Here's a link: Big V Pillow

The one I have now is more like a pillow and so is easier to move how you want.

Hope that helps!

ive got a six foot long one and it is like having another person in the bed but if it came to choosing between that and Dh well he would have to go! It doesnt seem to make that much difference really. I lie with it bent at a right angle so it goes under my head like another pillow and then all down my right side whilst I sleep on my left side. It kind of cocoons me in that way and supports my back. I have it almost tucked under me so that if I roll onto my back I kind of roll onto it so im not flat. Sometimes I put it on the other side and cuddle it so im half onto my stomach - really they are fab. Got it quite cheaply from ebay.

I have the dream-genii and I love it. It's stopped my hips aching and I also find it really supportive in the back. I'm finding it easy enough to turn over on it but I'm just 27 weeks so maybe that will change.
They do take up a bit of room though - we've got a king size bed and i think it would be a bit of a squash in a double. Also DH never gets any hugs any more as I'm too wrapped up in the pillow!

yeah thats the one i meant the dream genii. Does it support your bump? Can you sleep on your right side with it?

I've got one of these www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/product.aspx?CategoryID=m-maternity-essentials&ProductID=81646_8 1896&language=en-GB and it's excellent, am sleeping much better since I've been using it I think it's a Dream Genii even though it doesn't say so on the blooming marvellous site.

I just got the long 'maternity and nursing pillow' from John Lewis and am about to send it back - it's all solid not squishy and 40 cm shorter than described on the website! Horrible!

Two people on another community I'm on recommended one on the Grobags website so may try that, unless anyone else knows of a good soft squishy one?
