i know it was stupid, but could not resist at the time. I ate 2 very small pieces of raw salmon (DH was having sushi). i'm 12 weeks and now i'm paranoid.

do you think the baby will be okay and when can i find out if he/she isn't???

I think the baby will be fine. They must eat sushi in Japan when pregant (or am I being toatlly naive?!). Have you had your 12 week scan yet?

PLEASE don't worry, there is a only a problem IF you contract nasty food poisoning, that's why raw fish is best avoided.

Yes, he will be fine! Sushi is normally very clean and fresh.

I ate sushi while preg - didn't realise there was a reason not too.

As the others say, i guess the reason would be risk of food poisoning. It may be a bit more likely with raw fish, but its still extremely unlikely.

Really really dont worry. You're baby will be fine. I've been eating smoked salmon (a little different, but you're still advised not to) on a regular basis since being pgt. As long as you haven't bought it from such a dodgy place that you would avoid prgt or otherwise, I can't see it being a problem. Sorry this is causing you stress though..
