Cramps in early pregnancy. Is a burning sensation normal?

I'm not sure if I can describe them accurately.

I only just found out I am pregnant. I am very nervous since I already had 2 miscarriages since ttc #2. I have these crampy feelings along my bikini line and it's not really a pain - more like a sensation. It's like a warming sensation.

(No I haven't wet myself! )

Is this normal? I don't remember having any kind of cramp with my last 3 pregnancies - just twinges.

Hi Beatie,
I had cramps in all my 3 pregnancies. Some of the time it does feel like a burning sensation. BUt to be honest, I think any symptom you can come up with, some preganat lady has experienced. Is such a weird time on our bodies!
Hope all goes well this time, I know how much a miscarriage can affect the joy of future pregnancies. But try as much as you can to relax and enjoy!

I had the same thing. the doctor just put it down to stretching muscles and ligaments. gave me magnesium which really helped.

Just be sure you don't have symptons of a urine infection.

Beatie - I have these on and off. Bit like a dull ache that could be mistaken for a burning, hot sensation. Not really painful, just weird. I was getting them a few times a week, but I am now almost 12 weeks and they seem to be disappearing. I too was worried by them. I also get the niggling, stabbing pains and twinges - some really rather painful and worrying. I had a scan at 9 weeks when I got all these discomforts the most and there was bean and its heartbeat.... HTH

Just a thought-and sorry to ask embarrising questions-but could it possibly be a UTI? You'd probably need to go to the loo a lot if so.

They are (like most unpleasent things) especially common in pregnancy for some grossly unfair reason.

I had exactly this and was convinced I was having a miscarriage. But no. A relief but an embarassing one.

If there's any possibility that you might have one you need to get it checked because it can cause miscarriage.

Oh gosh! Could you give me some more details of what the symptoms are? I don't mind you mentioning it at all.

UTIs most common symptom is a feeling of burning or itching when urinating. Also, it is common to have an increase need to urinate (which, might be hard to separate from preganancy symptoms!)
If you have any worry at all just stop by GP and give a urine simple. Is really easy to check!

Hi everybody. Could you please give me your advice? Me and my fiance have been trying for a baby for a couple of months now. I am 15dpo and was supposed to start my period yesterday. For 2 weeks i have had symptoms of pregnancy such as mild cramps, tender breasts, increased discharge. I did a test on the day my period was due and recieved a very faint positive line using first response test. I did another one the following morning and the line was even fainter. Because i am so obsessed i did another one today but in the afternoon and the line is barely visible. I have attached a photograph. What are your opinions?

Completely understand your concerns. If you're anything like me you will get lots of strange aches and pains, especially in the first month of pregnancy. Around the time my period was due (about 2 days after I found out I was pregnant) I had bad period pains and pms, basically felt like period was going to start. I've had, low level period pain aches, stabbing, round ligament pain on and off through my pregnancy (now 18+4). If you are concerned it's best to check with your GP. I hope all goes well for you X
