Help..the jungle down below needs taming...

Before the midwives can’t see my baby’s head for the forest that closed salons have caused.

I’m a regular 6 weekly waxer and sadly due to salon closures and the fact I’m now 27 weeks pregnant I can no longer see my foof to be able to do anything with it.

1. I hate using veet because it grows back itchy and spikey
   
2. I am not epilating because I don’t have a death wish. Same for self waxing.
   
3. I tried my partners Phillips one shaver but it was useless
   
4. no razors as I prefer a trim to avoid the itchy, spikey stage of the camel toe regrowth
   
   So any lady ‘trimmers’ out there that you would recommend to prune the bushes? Thankfully the salons are due open before baby will arrive but we’re currently close to dreadlocks.

🤣 I have the Philips ladyshave from boots. It was quite expensive but I think they have 2 or 3 in the range to choose from. When I was due my first my husband offered to use his shaver on my foof and thought it would be fine to leave me completely bald!!! I ended up with shaving rash in labour which I still don't think I've forgiven him for. The lady shave leaves me with a nice trim without the shaving rash horror and has a few heads to choose from. Note - the 'smooth' head does give me a rash but I have v sensitivity skin so I use the trimmer.

I don’t have a recommendation but was curious about your experience waxing while pregnant. I’m only 6+4 but desperate to get a wax when things open again (and hopefully keep regular throughout my pregnancy). Is it much more painful than usual and is it okay to continue going throughout?

Midwives couldn’t give two hoots what your pubic hair is like. They’ll be focussing on getting baby out safely.

@Sauerkrauted I self waxed and didn’t find it any more painful than when I’m not pregnant. I also epilated my legs so maybe I’m just crazy 😛

No advise but just have to say thank you for making me laugh this morning.
I just wet shave in the shower but now 32 weeks so can't see my lady bits so just go by feel and 🙏 my for lips, I know midwifes don't care, but I do

Just to reassure you the only reason to reduce the hair is for your own benefit which as you can't see it at the moment probably isn't much of a benefit. So I wouldn't get too stressed about it.
Midwifes / drs really don't care and can manage just fine with a full on rainforest.

Yeah, it wasn’t for the midwives benefit I’m well aware they give zero spoons but I personally find it really uncomfortable as I’m so used to being waxed.

@Sauerkrauted the last time I had one I was only 12 weeks and it was the same as normal. Annoyingly as I’ve had to shave in between sessions I know the next one back will be really painful regardless but I’ve booked in for 37 weeks. With the semi hope that it might send me into labour just hope my waters don’t break on the poor girl haha.

@Ummm21 thanks for this, sounds like what I need and happy to spend the money as I think I’ll be using it after the baby is here for a while too. Think the foof will be out of bounds for a few months!

By the way, on the quattro just use the running clipper end. Ignore the razor blade end.

I do not for love nor money see why women would want to wax or shave I just don't get it. It's natural to have hair.

I am 37 weeks and I just use the big mirror in my bathroom to see what I'm doing. I just shave though. A little more difficult but it gets the job done.

I just use the shaver that I cut my husbands hair with and he trims his beard with... he tidies me up ‘downstairs’ TMI 🥴

@magicalsundays, trimming it shorter is perfect. I can't bear removing it all, it's so awkward, and uncomfortable. A good trim just to neaten and shorten makes it feel so comfortable. I have big thighs and it sort of 'pulls' if it's too long. Yuk!
