Resting Heart Rate Early Pregnancy

Hi all

Has anyone been monitoring their resting heart rate while pregnant? There’s no real information online in regards to it other than a few chats I have seen.
Anyway the reason I ask - I miscarried on 21st September this year and fell pregnant again the next cycle. This means my anxiety is at a all time low and google is my best friend (I know this is making things 10000 times worse). I have noticed some women talk about tracking their RHR. My RHR has not really rose as much as it maybe should have done and in fact it has fell once or twice recently. I’m pretty anxious as looking back this happened around my miscarriage. I’ve got no bleeding or cramping but do have some lower back pain and minimal symptoms although I am only 4+4. Rang EPU today and she said that she’s never heard that a drop in RHR leads to miscarriage. Just looking for some reassurance really....

My resting heart rate always starts to increase after I've ovulated and the day my period starts it's starts to decrease again. So my resting heart rate pre ovulation is 58-58bpm and it rises to 64 bpm until my period. When I was pregnant it went up that and stayed there until about 2 months post partum xx

Wish you luck in your pregnancy op xxx

My RHR pre pregnancy is around 54. When I first became pregnant it rose to around 62 which is normally what it’s at during my period. It then dropped again to around 58 before steadily rising to 70 towards the end of my 1st trimester. It then did another big dip before steadily rising again to 80 at 33 weeks. I don’t think you can read too much into it to be honest, so much stuff can make it vary. I actually find my average RHR drops on days when I’m active or have been for a run. It’s up and down all over the place.

Mine rhr raised slightly in early pregnancy.. Then started dropping again.. I panicked thinking the worst and turned it off.. I'll be 28 weeks on Thursday x

Thank you everyone - I’m technically classed as obese but I gym 5 times a week pre pregnancy so my RHR was around 58 so maybe I am overreacting. Also, apple Iwatch seems to take the lowest HR you’ve had within a time period which I do think isn’t very accurate. I think I need to take @Pol96 advice and ditch the heart rate monitoring. With how much I’m worrying you’d expect it through the roof!!

Apple watches aren’t medical devices - I think it would be best if you didn’t monitor this - I can only imagine that it would add to your stress, without giving any benefits.

Hope all goes well for you x

My heart rate rose from around 67 to around 73 at 6 weeks pregnant before falling again which I've heard is normal. It's now steadily rising and today is now 83 at 22 weeks pregnant but I'm having twins so that might make a difference

I've just hidden data on my fitbit, as I was checking it constantly and not good on my mh. I've also had MCs and now pregnant almost 8 weeks so enough to worry as it is...

@CharlotteH28 definitely stop tracking.. It honestly kept me up for weeks.. Turned it off and felt so much better about it.. I've turned it on every now and then since but never for long enough to track properly. Hope all goes well for your pregnancy x

I'd get rid of the fitbit this caused me so much anxiety. Mine rose a few beats the first few days after my positive them dropped a couple and I kept panicking something was wrong. I took it off in the end. I'm now 12 weeks and everything is fine. I did put it back on at 10 weeks and it still hadnt really risen x
