Possible missed miscarriage

Hi all! I went for an early pregnancy scan today believing I was 7 weeks +5 due to my last period. My scan didn't go too well unfortunately. The gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole were all present (although paperwork says gestational sac was elongated) but unfortunately the heart beat was not present. My paper work says that the crl was 8.2mm and that I am actually 6 weeks +5. I have been booked in for another scan next week Monday but as you can imagine I am going out of my mind. They say there is just a chance it is too early and that I haven't experienced no cramps nor bleeding what so ever. But I am heart broken and have just resigned myself to the fact that I have lost my baby. Has anyone else had anything similar happen to them?

First off - big hugs, if you're a hugging sort of person. If not, swap that for cup of tea / block of cheese / petting a cat or whatever else will give you some comfort during this bloody tough time.

I've had it go both ways - my non-viable pregnancy is now almost three and won't go to bed. So it might still be ok - that's why they scan twice.

It's horrible, but all you can do it wait. I'd say the fact that the sack isn't empty puts you in a better place than my actual MMCs (all empty gestational sacks).

I wish I could say something to make you feel better - I'm rooting for you and hope it's ok.

Thank you! It's tough as everyone just tells you to be positive but until they go through it they just don't know how to feel.

I just felt so clueless at the appointment and after. I wasn't even aware that missed miscarriage was even a thing until I googled stuff today. It was just like oh you ain't bled. I had to come home today with my paperwork and Google words etc as nothing was explained and do my own research.

Hi. Sorry things haven’t gone well.
Unfortunately I think you should prepare yourself for bad news. If it was a transvaginal scan, then a heartbeat should be seen when CRL >7mm. The “elongated” gestation sac can also sometimes be a sign of miscarriage.
Where I am the diagnosis would be made from that scan without requiring another, I’m sorry.
If trans abdominal scan only then that is different.
I don’t mean to be too blunt but also I think false hope isn’t helpful. The scan next week is not likely to show a miracle.
I have had the same thing - it sucks so much but you’ll get through it.

Yeah it was transvaginal. To be honest I'm not filled with hope. I think I've come to the conclusion that I have miscarried nay way. It just seemed so confusing earlier. Thank you

Hi OP, I'm so sorry you are going through this.
I went for a scan when i thought I was 7+5 but baby only measured 6+1 so it's not so much the size being the issue but the lack of heartbeat.
Mine was an internal scan and there was a heartbeat at 6+1.
Hoping for a miracle for you but i would prepare for the worst. Good luck..
