Bleeding after sex v early pregnancy

Took a positive test three days ago with lines getting progressively darker day by day. Today we DTD and I O’d. I’ve now been cramping and bleeding for the last hour. Blood is thin and watery, pink to red. I’m worried sick and kicking myself.

Has anyone had this and how did it end?

I had this and I’m afraid it didn’t end well but I also know that lots of people have bleeding in early pregnancy and it doesn’t mean a miscarriage so there isn’t really anything you can do at this point except wait and see how things progress. Sorry ❤️

Thankyou- oh that’s very sad. Do you mind me asking if it was after sex? I called the EPU and the lady was certain it wouldn’t cause a miscarriage but it’s hard to believe they’re not connected.

Having sex when pregnant can irritate the cervix and cause bleeding in early pregnancy. I bled because of an irritated cervix though that was because of vaginal suppositories (ivf meds). I didn’t have cramping though. Hope everything is ok x

I had this at 6 weeks! The week before I woke up to bleeding but scan could not detect a embryo just a sack and a yolk so was asked to come back a week later to see if there is any growth. In between the scans we had sex once and I bleed after I felt so bad I ruled out sex for weeks! The second scan a week later showed a little blob with a little flicker of a heatbeat! I'm now 15 weeks tomorrow, scan 2 weeks ago showed a active baby and last night I think I felt the first little flutter! Hope everything is okay for you!❤

My third pregnancy ended this way. Sorry to share this, OP. But yep, bleeding right after sex. I remember getting an excrutiating cramp right in the midst of it, then bleeding, ending in miscarriage. I had bled a lot throughout my second pregnancy with DD2. I should have known better with my third pregnancy. I was advised after the MC not to have penetrative sex during pregnancy. Explore other options, to put it nicely.
All that being said, this bleeding could be no problem at all. The cervix is so very sensitive though. I'd be careful after this bleed and just try out other things, just to be safe. Take it gently and easy.
How is your bleeding now? Flowers

So the bleeding stopped after three hours and there’s been none since. I took a test this morning that was darker, and I’ve had no cramps or anything.

If its not too sensitive to share from pp’s who had losses, did you bleeding cease or was the loss much later?

Thankyou so much.

I couldn't read this post and not comment.. I had this at 6 weeks.. weird watery red after sex with slight cramps (it wasn't bad just uncomfortable) and I like you thought the worst.. it only lasted about two hours and then went.

I'm now 10 weeks everything is perfectly fine and baby has a strong heartbeat so I wouldn't worry. Sex can cause all sorts of strange things at the beginning.

Hope your ok now x

Thankyou so much all- I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. I am feeling calmer now and like it’s probably a reaction to the sex- we will be abstaining until I have a 6 week scan and a chat with the midwife (she said yesterday i could ask for one)

We had the same thing every time we had sex up until week 12 and since we’ve had no issues. The sex just caused a cervical
Abrasion you’re bleed nothing major. It can sometimes have a bit of a bleed when I push on the toilet. I’m 28 weeks now and baby’s perfect so try not to stress too much
