Taking things into the hospital

It’s baby’s due date today, bags are all packed but no sign of baby so it’s looking like it might be a June baby!Hmm However I’m wondering with the current situation, should I be taking the car seat in with me initially or can my partner bring it when he picks me and baby up? My partner gets to come in for active labour and birth but then has to go home.

I already have the small suitcase for me, changing bag with baby’s stuff and my handbag. Not sure if it’s too much to be taking the car seat in at the same time at the start as well or not.

From what I've been told partner allowed in for active labour and then will have to leave after some time with baby, but my partner will bring the car seat when he comes to meet me once I've been discharged, in the past with my second child he would go home early hours DD was born and then he would come back later and be allowed on the day ward and would wait with me to be discharged but it's not allowed at the moment so let husband go home and when he comes to collect you he can bring the car seat then

@Goldenmother Great thank you, I just wasn’t sure about getting the baby and bags from the ward to where my partner can meet me but I’m sure all of that will be explained and some help from midwives given if needed. Will just get him to bring the car seat afterwards.

Good luck when the time comes!

My friend was helped by a nurse to carry her stuff to meet her partner but she was at different hospital to where I'm going but I'm sure someone will help us and worse case he can meet outside the ward I'm assuming

Not sure about the car seat but I would say pack plenty of snacks and pop/juice and even some sandwiches as hospital food is proper blah and you don't know how long you'll be there for! 🥰

I have lots of cereal bars and juice! Hoping that it’s all straight forward and I won’t have to stay long, not keen on hospitals anyway but never mind alone!
