Referred for growth scan

Just been for my 34 week midwife appointment. She has referred me for a growth scan as measurement has dropped. (At 28 weeks I measured 29 and at 31 weeks I measured 32 today I'm 34+1 and measure 34) she has got me an app today for the scan at 4.30. I feel really nervous about it what could be the reason for the drop ? Will it just be a quick scan then home ? This is baby number 3 but never had this before. Everything else at midwife was fine.

I was referred for a growth scan due to a 2nd episode of baby measuring small. When I got there they checked all his organs and that he was growing and he was absolutely fine, ended up measuring exactly where he needed to be and the lovely sonographer took some photos of the babies face for me.

Have you had different midwives measuring your bump? I think that had an effect for me.

Try not to panic you’ll be in and out fairly quickly

Thanks for the reply. Don't know why I feel so nervous about it when all other checks were ok guess it's because it's something I've never had. The same midwife has measured the last 2 appointments so I'm not sure. Fingers crossed all will be well and itll be a quick in and out appointment xx

Don't worry my midwife sent me for one last week to 33 weeks now but I was measuring 2 weeks behind.
Everything was absolutely fine, I can be a number of things with measurements such as the midwife not getting it quite right, baby's position, fluid, all sorts.
It was lovely to see baby again after the 20 week scan and the pictures really helped my husband bond with baby as she got a good picture of baby's face xxx

I had one with my 3rd baby at around 34/35 wks. Same midwife measured me all the way through. The sonographer was happy with all my measurements but I continued to measure small until she was born weighing a respectable 8lbs. I think it is more often than not a precautionary measure.

Hi well growth was fine but they have found a benign growth on my placenta so have to now monitor baby weekly and will be inducing me no later than 38 weeks. Slightly scary as the growth can affect baby heart if left not checked so hoping now they are monitoring nothing will get any worse x
