How do you manage sickness at work?

How do you manage sickness at work? Where I work there's 1 toilet on the floor I work on and it's the opposite side of the building, not a massive building but still not great! I'm a teacher so can't just run to the loo. I've not yet been sick but came close today!

Keep a carrier bag (with no holes) handy?

Agree with @Tensixtysix. You can buy proper sick bags which keep it all contained. Plus some water and mints for afterwards. Obviously you don’t want to be sick in a bag but better than the floor or yourself.

What do you need to do if you feel like you are going to be sick when you are teaching? Do you need to get someone into the room to cover? If so I think you need to do that at the first warning sign even if there are several false alarms just so you don’t risk being sick in class.

It must be miserable and you have my sympathies. Hope it passes soon.

Take time off! It doesn't count towards sickness days, so look after yourself.
