I know this is going to sound vet ‘first world problem’ but just wondering if anyone else is on Maternity leave and bored senseless?

Everyone says ‘enjoy the relaxing time’ but there’s only so much relaxing I can do before I’m bored silly!

I have 2 children in primary school but during the day I’m so bored! I do have a few friends who I can meet up with for lunch sometimes, my house is spotless (I’m OCD anyway), my freezer is bursting and every cupboard/drawer has been decluttered.

I genuinely don’t feel that this baby wants to make an arrival any time soon so I could have at least another fortnight of this!

Tell me I’m not alone in this?!

Nope. 39+3, currently on holiday (mat leave starts on 9th Dec). Bored out of my skull.

Nothing relaxing about being bored. Don't want to wonder around town spending money, house is tidy. Time off before baby is born is overrated.

Do you have any hobbies or interests? You don't just have to clean/cook/nest. You could literally do whatever you want... read books on topics that interest you, watch documentaries, knit a scarf, do a 2020 vision board, download a 'learn a language' app, have a go at painting, give a charity shop find a DIY makeover, write to your MP about an issues you feel strongly about...sky is the limit!

Go for some long walks may move things on quicker for you smile x

It's very hard to relax when you know it could happen at any minute. That's what I found anyway at that stage. I never wanted to go too far 'just in case', also didn't have the energy to do anything. So yes it is extremely boring, but like everyone, in the madness of those newborn days and sleepless nights you'll crave even an hour of what you have now grin, and that's the irony of it

My job was quite stressful so I’m glad to not be there at this stage so I shouldn’t complain.

39+1 and i'm going out of my mind! I've only been off a week but it feels about a year

I'm 33 weeks, have been on sick for the past 7 weeks already but not returning to work due to spd... I'm so bored... Can't get motivated to do anything though.... Hence why I'm on here lol

I would welcome your tidying efficiency and manoeuvrability at this stage - feeling woeful about the prep that needs doing but just too cumbersome / painful / tired now to be good at getting it all done.

Hi OP, I am 34 weeks tomorrow and have been off work for 8 or so weeks, but not returning due to issues in this pregnancy. I also feel abit like I have run out of stuff to do. The freezer is full, Christmas shopping done, everything is washed for the baby and DH has decorated the nursery. I have taken up cross stitch though and am making a baby record that I can add his name and date of birth etc too when he arrives. I also have a pregnancy massage tomorrow, I didn't have one last time so I am really looking forward to it.

I am trying not to moan as when my Dc1 (2yo) is home I really struggle to keep up !! But I totally know where you are coming from. Goodluck with the rest of your pregnancy.

No advice but just sympathy - I felt the same

Everyone would say make the most of it before baby comes - but honestly what does that even mean As it’s not like you can go away when you are that heavily pregnant

All the best OP

Recon this is where being quite lazy helps 😂 Watch some box sets on Netflix? Watch your fav Christmas movies? Download a good audio book and go for a walk/waddle and listen? Pick a new book to read and pop your feet up with some biscuits? I can’t wait to get a couple of books read on pre-baby maternity leave.. I do rarely have time with a toddler!

33+4 here, first proper day of maternity leave as I was told my placenta wasn’t working so would be booked for a c section this week. Packed the car, bags and car seat in. Went for fetal medicine scan to be told they will just do weekly scans until they think they need to deliver. Absolute frustrating palava and my maternity had been automatically triggered.

I spent the entire day in bed, we cleaned the whole house before going to the hospital so there was literally zilch I could do.

Only another 6ish weeks of this.. fsad
