At the end of my tether with this nausea!!

Ladies please, I am begging for someone to help me. I can no longer hack it. I just can't stand it anymore. I could cry every minute of the day. I can't function. And it's only got worse since week 11 - I'm now at week 13. Everyone said that it will end / get better. It's getting worse.

What can I do ? I have nausea 24/7. I don't throw up too often, but the last couple of days I have had to. Usually I hold it in. But the last two days I just couldn't.

I've tried ginger - which makes me feel sicker ?!? I've tried the sickness bands. I've tried three different meds from my GP. I've tried eating small snacks. All food is disgusting to me.

Am I missing something ? Today I literally feel like my nausea is burning me from the inside. It's unbearable. It's been 7 weeks and the last 2 weeks have been the worst.

Anyone else have any advice on this ?

Work is becoming an issue. I just can't do it. I can't be fully productive and it's showing. I've taken sick leave and I think I'm going to have to continue to stay off sick as it's emotionally draining right now.

I know everyone will tell you this, but it will pass soon! unless it's HG, then i guess you're off to the doctors. I had terrible nausea when i was pregnant and NOTHING helped. people told me to drink water, nibble crackers, ginger biscuits ... bloody nothing worked. it passed when i hit 14 weeks with both. i hope it's the same for you as i know how awful and frustrating it is

Thanks ! I hope by week 14 I'll be better.

The doc did actually sign me off work with HG interestingly. My friend who's a doctor just told me he thinks I have that. I responded and said that I thought I had to be throwing up 10 times a day at least and he said that's not actually true as it's a spectrum thing. In any case, I think it's just dehydration I need to look out for.

Thank you for your kind response.

What have you tried from the doctors already?

It was week 16 that I started feeling better - if anything, at week 14 it got worse again but then improved rapidly after that.

I'm only nearing 9 weeks and felt horrendous today. My go to breakfast of toast turned on me this morning.

Please don't tell me I might have another 5 weeks of this! Just feels like my body is so fickle at the moment as things I could eat to stave off the nausea I now can't!

Sorry you are going through this. I had nausea my whole pregnancy.

For me the things that helped were...
Rest, rest, rest... Get lots of sleep

Never have an empty stomach (if I did I vomited), it took a bit of time to get my head around eating whilst feeling nauseous, but I had to. 18 months on my relationship with food is still messed up as a result.

Don't get hot (not the most helpful advice given next weeks forecast, but really try to stay cool). Don't feel afraid to book sick from work during the hot weather, pregnancy related sickness shouldn't count against your work sickness record.

Cyclyzine 3 times a day helped me a bit, each tablet gave me a few hours relief (although it sounds like you have already tried that).

Other than that, even though it carried on for the whole pregnancy it definitely eased through the second and third trimester, and the relief when my DD was born was instant and absolute...I felt amazing!!!

I’ve been using these. Doesn’t take nausea away but does take the ‘edge’ off so I feel like I can do stuff.

Myrtle & Maude - Morning Sickness // Vitamin B6 & Natural Peppermint Oil Bon-BONS www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073BNQ5Y2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NURmDb7RCCKRJ?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

What meds have you tried already? Was ondansetron one of them? The only thing that got me through was ondansetron and cyclizine together, but they usually want you to try the milder drugs first. Normal morning sickness remedies (the ginger/mint/wristbands things) are pointless when you’re that ill.

There’s a really good support thread in the Pregnancy board on here.
