anyone had to wait longer than normal for tests to come out positive?

lisa771 What do you mean by longer than normal, have you had any faint lines or have you been testing negative??? Have you ben using home teats?? How late are you??

in currently CD46, neg hpt and dr urine tests, nurse said urine tests don't always work, and gave me another to do over the weekend. normal cycles 25/23 days. any ideas?

have heard of this happening, though not had this happen myself personally. If there is still any doubt as to whether you are pg after you have done the test, could you ask the nurse to do a blood test for your HCG levels - this will tell definitely if you are PG

Have you had a stressful month? Mine are often delayed 10 days or more if I have had a bad month.

no stresses, nothing different to normal. i did another test today. i opened the casing cos i wanted to know what was inside, i found a pink line where it shouldnt be, aswell as the control line being pink, is this still positive?

i just have a curious mind :-), there was a pink line near the end on the strip, probably where ink had accumulated. I wanna SCREEEEEEEM :-)

I opened the thingy too when i was definately negative (was hoping for a bfp at the time) there was also a pink line there for me as well - i was convinced the test was wrong and the line had slipped!

the main one i guess is my nipples and the area around them, soooo sensitive, i had to buy a bigger bra yesterday! i get queasy through the day which worsens about 5/6pm and i get tired then aswell. ive just done a drs test and its neg. i don't know what to think anymore.

drs tests aren't necessarily more accurate than the better Home Tests - when I found i was expecting ds, the boots own brand test came up immediately with a strong line, the doctors test came up with a faint line. Symptoms wise it sounds similar to the beginning of my pg - I wonderered why my bras weren't fitting any more when I had lost weight recently! I would go back to the doctors and ask them to do a blood test

lisa771 - how awful for you. The not knowing for certain is so frustrating and can end up being the only thing you can think about from waking up to going to sleep. I have a very long and irregular cycle and so know all about the waiting game.
However, if you have a regular short cycle and two tests have come up negative, the odds are against being pregnant I am afraid. Those early pregnancy symptoms can often be brought around just before a period thanks to normal non pregnancy hormones. I often go up a bra size and have tender breasts just because of water retention and with all the worry and not knowing it would be understandable if you felt a little sick. I don?t want to bring you down, just feel that it would be worth considering.
It is not that uncommon to skip a period now and again through no obvious cause. Maybe wait until your next period would have been due - at the end of this week? - and if you haven?t started then, perhaps retest to make absolutely sure. WHile typing this I know that logical action will be hard to follow - I did two tests a day for nearly a week with DD2 because my cycle was long rather than wait a few days! Hope it gets resolved for you really soon and the waiting game will be over.

well, i think i'll wait and see if af comes this week and if it doesnt the nurse says test again. who would be a woman. :-)

ive decided to go by the weird bleed as af, cant be sure it was or wasnt af. missed again if it wasnt and got another 5 days to wait if it was.

what does Af mean that youve been talking about ? i dont know whether im pregnant and dreading it as i wasnt planning anymore after two kids and a cmplicated missed miscarriage last year that ended up with an infection and terrble problems with periods and bits left in ..i know its gruesome!!! im still fighting anaemia since it happened so dread being pregnant for so many reasons but ive got symptoms to my last two but negative result although i did have a period last month and the next one is due in about 10 days.i need to check my dates! i only feel like this when i`m pregnantbut def a neg result on home kit..what the hell should i do its driving me crazy and the bloody nausea hits me out of the blue with no definite pattern . any ideas
