Pregnant again after 2 miscarriages

Hi everyone! Just looking for a bit of advice. I found out last week I am pregnant again after two previous miscarriages and I cannot seem to shake the bloody feeling that I'm going to loose this one to. The anxiety is eating away at me. I'm only 6 weeks tomorrow and I lost the first at 11+3 so really I don't think I will relax until I know everything is ok. Do you guys think it is worth getting a early scan? My partner thinks that it won't change the outcome so there is no reason to do one but I think if I know everything is developing as it should, maybe it will make it a bit easier!!

Sorry for the rant. Hope you can take the time to read this. 😘 x

It won't change the outcome, that's true.

But it will help your anxiety for the first few weeks and help you to relax in these important initial stages of pregnancy, which can only be a good thing!

I fell pregnant after 3. The Consultant scanned me weekly from 6 weeks until 20 weeks. I spent half the week happy as the scan had been okay and half the week worrying about the next. This pregnancy resulted in DS.

However that was because I had had 3 miscarriages and so the consultant was already involved. He said he might not be able to stop anything happening but might get a good idea of what was happening.

Fingers crossed for you and congratulations on this pregnancy and sorry about the other losses.

@Allthebestnamesareused I'm sorry you had to go through 3. I don't think il be able to cope if it happens again. The doctor did say actually if I had another miscarriage they start to monitor you more. Maybe il have a early scan to just put my mind at rest for now. I know it may not last long but maybe it will stop me stressing!

Thank you everyone for your advice. ❣️❣️

I had two missed miscarriages last year. Lost the first at 11 weeks (HB stopped at 7 weeks) and second at 12 weeks (HB stopped at 9 weeks). I am currently 16+3 and all is good so far Smile.

I wouldn’t personally advise an early scan. I had two last pregnancy which gave me false reassurance as I still went on to miscarry later down the line. This time I just waited it out till the first scan at 13+6 and couldn’t believe it when she showed me a happy baby on the screen. Save your money and sanity and try to resist it for now.

Hi... I had MC 5 months ago so feel like I understand you slightly. Although I haven't been through the pain of 2 or 3... how horrible for you both. I had bleeding and almost no symptoms (apart from very slightly larger nipples!) at 5 and 6 weeks. I was convinced another MC was on its way. I am 7 weeks today. Last time I had a scan at 6 weeks and 8 weeks where we saw heartbeat and were told everything looked great. I miscarried at 10+4. This pregnancy I feel more positive. Although I am a nervous wreck, last time I had a gut instinct something was going to go wrong, it was almost like a "see, I told you" conversation with myself. 3 or 4 days ago I started getting proper symptoms and this time it all just feels different, I can't explain it. I am lucky in that we have a walk in EPU where u can just go an get scanned for any reason. I am getting through it by just taking one day at a time. I put doctors appointments in my diary that in my head are "if we get to this date, I'll go have a scan". A day or two beforehand if I've had no bleeding and still have symptoms I delete it from my diary. It sounds mental but that is what is getting me through. I am then looking at major hurdles like booking appointment at 8 weeks, getting past previous MC date and finally week 12 scan. I appreciate early scans may reassure but for me I don't think they will as it didn't mean anything last time. So I am just trying to take each day as it comes and look at my day positively e.g still strong symptoms, no bleeding. For the vast majority of people, it means everything is still okay, today. Tomorrow do it all over again. Its impossible to think further. Good luck

@SophieStripe I'm sorry. ThanksI know what you mean everyone seems to be different and reassurance is sometimes what you need!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you. I understand completely about the milestone thing, I miscarried at 11+3 and what I thought was 11+4 but actually was a baby that never fertilised so my body didn't tell me I miscarried. Which I think was worse. Every time I go to the loo I just fear I'm bleeding, and I don't feel pregnant which is a bit of a worry, but then again I never did before and now I'm only 6 wks tomorrow so still time for that. We will see and what's meant to be will be. Good luck in your pregnancy I wish you all the best ❣️❣️

Are you taking a baby aspirin daily? Would highly recommend if you're not. It's not harmful but could stop another mc if the reason for your mc was anything like mine (luckily they found out, and it was such an easy fix) .

The advice I was given by my consultants was to take a 75mg daily dose - just buy it over the counter, it's cheap. Normal aspirin tablets are about 300g so too much but just ask the pharmacist. There's a few threads on here about it.
