Pregnancy

Worried it's ectopic

Found out 10 days ago that I am expecting my 3rd child. Everything has been fine until last night when I started getting pain in my lower left pelvis. Woke in the night, was so dizzy I couldn't stand up but the pain had gone. Since about lunch time today it's come back and seems to be getting worse. Every time I bend down or sit in a funny position the burning pain goes through to my back. Never had this with my first two, I was expecting stretching pains etc but because it's one sided I'm starting to worry a bit....

I don't remember any abdominal pain when I had an ectopic. But I did eventually have pain in my right shoulder (classic sign). Could it be trapping wind or need a poo?

Speak to your midwife as you are concerned..

I haven't seen a midwife yet, I'm only about 5 and a half weeks

I had burning/niggling pain on my right side with ectopic. No other ectopic symptoms atall. If worried please get it checked, luckily I went and was treated with methotrexate before it ruptured

It could be nothing but I would get checked I was 5 weeks

At 5 and a half weeks they'll be able to see if the pregnancy is in the uterus or not. I'd get checked out.

Get it checked urgently... you might have internal bleeding if it’s ruptured/rupturing.

Phone your out of hours GP (I guess through 111) now. You need to be seen in the Early Pregnancy Unit (how you are referred there will vary locally, hence why speak to GP- but don’t leave it over the weekend). Feeling so dizzy you can’t stand and pain that severe is not normal. You need a scan ASAP to confirm where your pregnancy is x

For my subsequent pregnancies I was sent fior an early scan just to make sure foetus was in the right place. Saw dd2 on the screen before 6 weeks, not so much of a heart beat more of a spasmodic wobble she was so young, I found that upsetting tbh.

If you can’t get hold of GP via 111, this is one of those rare occasions where I would say it is acceptable to go to A&E for a gynae review.

I had a horrible sharp pain in my left side in the same place, dizzy spells and prune colored bleeding with my ectopic. Go and get it checked out because everyones different. Sorry for all the ladies on this thread who have had losses 🌸🌺

It's not a constant pain and there is no bleeding. I'm stuck at work until this time tomorrow but if it's any worse by morning I'll have to make my excuses and go and get seen. Sorry to hear of losses and thanks for all the advice xx

With my ectopic I didn't get any pains until my tube ruptured although I was bleeding a very bright red blood almost from the beginning of finding out I was pregnant. Unfortunately all the internal scans I had the sonographer could not find where the pregnancy was. I had to have blood tests every 48 hours until it was too late to do anything else Sad

I would try to have it check just to make sure what is happening. Good luck OP and I really hope everything is ok for you

I just had sharp pain in right hip.
Shoulder tip pain only happened when doubled over in EPU.

Go to A&E

This is your third baby and something is clearly telling you something is not the same as your others.

X

I had an ectopic and the pain was a burning pain and I could pin point the area it was in as if a hot poker was being stuck on me in one spot. Get checked asap last thing you want is a rupture!

Are you on your own? Don’t be on your own. Just in case.

coffeecoffeemorecoffee · 10/11/2017 23:18

If it's ectopic is it common for the pain to be intermittent? It's not a constant pain, just coming and going x

Mine was like intermittent period cramps and dull aches with no bleed. I didn't know I was pregnant. I'd get myself checked out if I were you.

I had severe left sided abdominal pain at the beginning of my pregnancy. It was so bad I could barely walk at points and it completely took my breath away. I didnt have any bleeding or other symptoms. Baby was in my uterus as normal and I'm now 19 weeks, so it might not be the end.

I hope you've been checked out. Flowers

The pain has gone Confused not that I'm complaining. I am keeping a close eye though as I'm nearing 6 weeks and if it's ectopic I'm sure it'll be next week that I find out!

I found my out at 5.5 weeks. The pain came and went, I didn't have any bleeding just intermittent pain that I couldn't ignore cos it hurt.

Report
CrmbleBee · 12/11/2017 09:16

I called 111 with intermittent pain a few weeks back and they said they couldn't evaluate intermittent pain- only if you currently have it. I'd book an early scan privately just to check location. You could probably get one booked for today.
