Pregnancy

Pooing, back ache & anxiety

Hi, sorry I'm not sure if my issue is to do with pregnancy or if it's a seperate health query so I'm hoping someone can advise and help me.

I'm 9+3 weeks pregnant. No current dc. 1 previous mc.

Today I really needed a poo, like it was there and ready, I went to the toilet and didn't need to push. When I wiped & checked the tissue, there was red blood. Blood was from bum not vagina.
After that I had back ache in my lower back which disappeared when I got in the bath.. I haven't got out of bath yet to know if it's gone or not.
I was going to just monitor and wait and see of it happened again or next time I pooed but my anxieties won't calm down and I don't know what to do.
When I had my booking in appointment last week the midwife said that I am not to worry and if I have any concerns to speak to her and she'll do the worrying. It's a nice thought but my question is, is this an issue to speak to the midwife about? Could it be part of or affecting the pregnancy? Or is it an issue to go to my GP with? Should I just keep an eye on it?
My dh is working away until Friday and I just don't know what's best to do!

I'd speak to the GP. Maybe it's a hemorroid or something?

Sounds like piles. I've had this before

This happened to me. It was a small split from hard stools and constipation

I had that throughout pregnancy. Piles.... and your blood may be thinner too (low platelets). Both are nothing serious but I would strongly advise to stick to a very poo friendly diet as the piles will only get worse if you don't. lots of fruit and veg and sweet yourself off white flour for a few months

I am now 13weeks pregnant with number 5, and remember being shocked at how early in the pregnancy with number 1 I struggled with constipation - I'd kind of expected it when the baby was big enough to sit on by bowel etc (oh the glamour!) This time I am eating lots of shreddies (bowl of cereal always my go to snack anyway), and we only buy wholemeal bread at home (unless DS1 is asked to run to the shop when he might 'forget' and buy white :D )
This time I have noticed backache tends to precede needing a poo (sometimes by quite a long time :( ) so I don't know if its related, but I also wonder if it is related to where baby is currently sitting - in which case I'd really like it to move off the nerve soon!
Anxiety - if not this, then it'll be a different cause for concern. Pregnancy is worse than toddlers for constantly changing and not being sure what is right/wrong with this phase!
Hope your GP can reassure you if you get an appt

Thank you all for replying! It's made me feel a lot better already. Can I just ask don't you normally get piles from pushing too hard with constipation? I've been really paranoid about it since my BFP so haven't been pushing hard, more just letting it come itself. I've not been constipated so I'm a bit confused but thank you all for reassuring me.
