When will washing clothes end!!!!

I have next to no energy and so much to do.
I washed 2 bin bags worth of baby clothes / blankets and so on... since then I've had my mother in law come and ditch more blankets more clothes and now my friends are guilty of it!!
She has more clothes than me and my partner put together! It seems just when I catch up and can catch a breath I have people hoarding more clothes on me!!

Probably sounding awfully ungrateful... I'm not but it just seems never ending and a massive task

You don’t need to wash them all before baby comes, you can do them as you go along when the baby arrives, just do what you need for the first couple of weeks xx

I didn't wash any of DD clothes before she was born. Assuming they are new clothes it really isn't worth the agro imo.

Sounds like these are hand-me-downs? I'd only wash the first size as I found that by the time I got to 3-6 months clothes then (a) I'd realised that I didn't need half the stuff my SIL had dumped on us and (b) I wanted to rewash everything that had been stored (PFB moment!). Sort by size, chuck the large stuff back in the bin bags and into a cupboard. Oh, but bear in mind that if your hander-downer loves their tumble drier, things will run small. I made DP start dealing with the stuff from his family they were giving us a boot load of well out of age stuff (school uniform bits for a newborn) every time and it was too much. I feel your pain - I hate having other people's clutter to deal with!

If they are from friends and family, they've probably washed them, so I wouldn't bother.

I feel that I have washed everyday for 20 years with the exception of some holidays.

For a little perspective: I haven't been given any hand me downs. So I'm having to buy all clothes second hand and then have to wash them. At least yours are free!

Just washed the coloured clothes I got given brand new and bedding etc. A friend is washing everything she's giving to me so I do t have to do it.
Only we dont have a dryer so it's taking longer than I'd like it to. Baby is due in 2 weeks in cutting it fine as I wanted everything ready by tomorrow

Some are hand downs some are new. My mother washed most of the clothes she gave me but just keep getting bags of stuff ditched on me and I'm thinking how an earth will she wear all This?? She's gonna have an outfit a day!! I've kept alot of things still in bags as I just don't see how I'm going to get through it all.
A chest of 8 large draws is rammed full!! I've had enough got baby stuff coming out my arsehole

Whilst it’s probably well meant, sometimes people tend offload all their unwanted stuff when a new baby is due. If you have way more than you need then I’d pick out what you like and just shove the rest in storage. There’s only so much a baby can wear!

Without washing baby stuff yet as too early.. I already do 3-4 loads a day on washing drying and ironing and there's only 3 of us. Lol
When baby comes God. Knows as Im pretty ocd with stuff like that.. So I dread to think lol

Actually just thinking, when my machine broke last month I took a couple of bin bags up to my mum to do for me. So 45 years and counting.

I'd take the next bag of hand me downs straight down to the charity shop.save yourself a job in six months time.

It only gets worse as well once they're here, as you'll find it's not only them requiring multiple changes of clothes in one day, but also you.

And as PP said I’d just wash the size appropriate ones... however, neither of my boys ever fit into newborn stuff even when they were born, so is also wash the size up just in case
