Pregnancy

Has pregnancy turned anyone else a bit nocturnal?

I'm in my third trimester of what's been a fairly easy and much wanted pregnancy so I shouldn't complain but I will.

For the past few nights, lying down in bed has made my back ache so much that I've ended up padding around the house in the middle of the night looking for things to do.

Then tonight my back niggles have started again about an hour or so after I've came to bed, only when I got up I needed the toilet. Spent 20 minutes freezing on the loo with the shits, stood up and felt sick. Ended up throwing up in the sink and pissing myself in the process. I'm truly glad that dh was asleep in bed to miss the entire spectacle Blush.

So now I've cleaned the bathroom and am heading downstairs to do something until my tiredness outweighs by sore back and I finally fall asleep! It can't just be me awake; so what's everyone else up to?

Big hugs!! Sounds like you’re really suffering!
Have you tried heat pads for your back? (Or get your OH to give your a massage)

I’m 24 weeks and thankfully am not at the full nocturnal stage yet but I definitely find it harder to sleep! (Or it could just be that I stay up for hours on Mumsnet lol)

To be fair I've had it easy so far so i shouldn't whinge.

No, haven't tried heat pads, massages or indeed anything that might help at all. I prefer to just potter around the house at night like a self-pitying fat vampire in pyjamas. I will try something actually useful today though!

40+4 weeks pregnant and wake up every night at 1am until DP goes to work at 6.30am then i finally fall back to sleep. I may be worrying about having to be induced though.

40+2 and I wake up between 3-6 most days. I don’t know why and I can’t get back to sleep and it’s killing me.
My yoga teacher said it’s meant to be prep for when the baby arrives and you get interrupted sleep.
I just hate it.

37+5 here and have been awake since 0330. End up spending too much time googling weird things and freaking myself out. Baby is so squirmy and heavy and it's all just too much! Winge, winge winge.....

I'm up now and have been laying out breakfast things and writing lists Hmm

Ha OP I feel your pain. I spewed the other day and pissed myself, unfortunately I was sat on the edge of my bed spewing into a sick bucket. Thankfully my fat thighs diverted it away from my mattress, oh the glamour!
36+4 here and surviving on 4 hours of broken sleep every night. I find that 4am is the magic time that my body decides to go to sleep. So over it!

I had this up until a few weeks ago - I miss my nights reading with the dogs. Now I seem to sleep more or less straight through with the occasional wee.
Maybe I'm mad but I've always liked the night

OP, I actually snorted (my very hot cup of tea) at "self-pitying fat vampire in pyjamas". 😆

Only 28 weeks myself, so no advice- and am still managing to get a reasonable amount of rest, although lying down is starting to hurt...- but I wish you all the very best. Not long til baby :)

Ha ha thanks for the nighttime chat ladies.
Think I'm going to compile a list of quiet jobs I can be getting on with!
