Does this scan look ok? Worrying

I’ve had a private 12 week scan today but I’m worried because they didn’t do the NT measurement and I’ve been looking at the scan.. does this look like an abnormal amount of fluid behind the neck?

I was worried about the nasal bone but you can see it in another pic.

I'm not an expert but it looks like baby has her arm up behind her head and that's what you can see.

Google "12 week ultrasound". It looks perfectly normal Flowers

My 12 week scan looked very similar and I got a low risk result on the downs test.

Unless you are a trained sonographer you can't possibly know. Stop googling - it's dangerous!

It really is dangerous to google anything to be honest. Appreciate the reassurance from your replies Smile

My scan also looked similar and I worried too - unnecessarily!

No point in asking us random people on mumsnet. You need a professional sonographer. Wait for your nhs app.

No I know, I will, just wanted to see if anyone else’s looked similar

Iv seen lots of scans that look like this, mine included and they couldn't do my NY measurement either because baby wouldn't keep still, I had the quad test done few weeks after 12 week scan and the tests came back low risk so I wouldn't worry too much, worrying only makes you ill and you don't need to worry if there's nothing to worry about yet lol. I'm sure the sonographer would of told you If anything looked abnormal, she scans lots and lots of people on a daily basis, have trust in them. I no its hard but if anything is wrong they will be the Ones to notice xx

Thank you east! I need to start to relax and enjoy rather than worry over everything now I think. Stepping away from google...

I'm quite sure your sonographer would have flagged up anything he/she though was of any concern. Untrained random people of mumsnet are going to see less than the sonographer.

You cannot tell from that picture. Baby has to be in correct position and use the measuring thing to get accurate measurements. It took an experienced sonographer about 10 minutes to get it. Unless you're trained you don't know what you're looking for.

At the NHS scan they couldn’t get a measurement so need to just do bloods at 16 weeks. Extremely grateful everything looks good but would really like to get peace of mind and the screening done, has anyone else had any experience of this?
