Pregnant? Wishful thinking? Primary Infertility Diagnosis?

Hi all, I’m new to this site and have no idea about the shortened terms (TTC is the only one I know!) so apologies in advance for a long post.

Iv been trying to conceive now for around 4yr in total. I seen a specialist after 1 year and was diagnosed with ‘primary infertility’ I have absolutely no idea what this means or what is causing it? Nothing was explained to me, my partner at the time had a very low sperm count so was diagnosed the same? I was over weight and told to loose 7st as ivf was our only option! Anyway I lost the 7st but the relationship broke down. I am now back with my childhood sweet heart and TTC again. It’s been 8 month now with no luck. He’s not been checked so we don’t know his situation, just hoping he has a normal count!!

Anyway the past 2wks Iv suddenly been hit with such bad insomnia! I’m awake until early hours every night and Iv never had issues like this with sleep! I’m so tired but i Just can’t drift off. I’m having random sickly feelings but haven’t actually vomited. My boobs seem ‘fuller’ than usual but they do change size a lot during the month. Normally I’d just do a test, get my negative and move on with it but for some reason I just really can’t bring myself to test this month because I have such a niggling feeling that it’s finally happened and I don’t want the bubble to burst.
My period tracker app says I was due my period yesterday but I do generally go up to a week past the date it predicts. I’m due to go on here holiday in 9 days so I’d need to make changes to my travel insurance ect but I can’t being myself to test Sad

So, what’s your thoughts?

Also anyone else been diagnosed with Primary Infertility? That may be able to shed some light on that for me?

Thanks for sparing about 7hrs to read my essay Smile

There’s only 1 way to know at this early stage.... test. However, I would wait another few days because it could be too early and say negative.

Can you abc your partner do it together perhaps?

Do you know when you were ovulating?

I think primary infertility just means you’re TTC your first child? (Would be secondary infertility if you already had a child.) So not a very helpful diagnosis as it doesn’t tell you why. Maybe they can’t tell (unexplained).

Good luck OP!

Primary Infertility just means you haven’t had any children (secondary means you had children but are now infertile).

You don’t seem to know what your actual diagnosis was but if, for example, it was PCOS, then losing so much weight will improve your hormone levels and make it possible to ovulate and more regular cycles.

Good luck. I too think the only way to tell will be to take a test.

@Lozmatoz according to my app I ovulated on the 8th but I don’t do ovulation tests or anything now because Iv been trying to lessen the pressure so I’m not sure. My partner will be happy to test with me although I don’t like to get his hopes up! I finished my last period on the 2nd

Try reading this. It’s excellent, it helps you know your body rather than relying on apps or tests. Much less stressful and more accurate!
There’s lots of other helpful bits too about fertility. Good luck. X

I had insomnia (still do on and off at 10weeks) from before I tested positive. I just didn't realise that pregnancy was the culprit those first few nights. Fingers crossed for you!!
