So last week i done a post on here about me struggling to eat and not liking anything. Its getting worse but i do have a history of anorexia. I am morbidly obese after recovering but now im pregnant. (10 weeks) i feel like its coming back? I thought it was just pregnancy symptoms from the nausea but now the nausea is away and im still hardly eating, i have lost weight as i feel it in my clothes. Im scared im harming my baby. I am forcing myself to eat but its tiny meals. Has anyone else experienced this x

Eat small meals frequently. Also eat Fruit And veg And try taking pregnancy multi vits.
I'm currently going through the opposite situation. I can not stop eating chocolate..
I'm sure baby will be fine as long as you've eaten something xx

I don’t have any history of ED but did experience this. I’ve had no cravings (am 34w now) but SO many aversions. At one point the sight or thought of sparkling water made me gag. I ate only dry cereal for a week in the first trimester. It was when my morning sickness was at its peak.

It did pass, but given your history why not chat with the midwife? I can’t imagine how hard it must be to have similar feelings occurring in pregnancy so make sure you’re getting the support you need X

One thought is that not eating much due to nausea felt slightly similar to your body as not eating much due to anorexia. Bringing back the same 'comforting' feeling. On the other hand it may be that nausea has gone back lack of appetite remains for the moment. I sometimes wonder which of the two I'm feeling. The first thing is to keep your midwife up to date on all aspects. The second, is that I make sure I'm getting enough of all the main food groups each day, and focus on that side more than calories per se. Babies come through HG fine so don't panic re damage, but chat to your midwife as anorexia can catch up with you much quicker than you expect.

I have no experience of eating disorders but struggled to eat for at least the first four months of pregnancy, I was pregnant with twins and worried I wasn't eating enough. My consultant obs said that I should think of the twins as parasites who would take everything they needed out of my body, I didn't need to worry about my lack of eating or lack of weight gain (I lost weight) as they could just suck everything they needed from me. It got better over time and the dc were fine. Talk to a hcp.

I'm struggling to eat even now that the nausea is subsiding - tiny portions compared to what I would normally have as I feel full almost all of the time. I'd speak to your midwife though about getting specialist help. It might be completely normal what your eating but if your feeling yourself sliding back into old habits then maybe best to speak to someone now.

I'm 22 weeks and only am just not getting an appetite back. For me, the nausea and loss of appetite are not connected. So your nausea can go away, but it doesn't mean you want to eat. Definitely speak to your midwife about your concerns given your past history, but also what you are describing otherwise sounds completely normal to me in early pregnancy. It does get easier.
