Early induction

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can share any experiences of being induced slightly early? I have a few pregnancy complications, the most recent being IUGR. I am having frequent scans/monitoring and in the event that these show lack of growth / other issues with placenta / baby I will be induced asap.

Thankfully I am already close to term, so hopefully should get to 36/37 weeks before this happens (if it happens at all!). However, this is so different from my last experience giving birth (went into labour naturally, overdue, low risk, pretty intervention free etc) that I'd like to be more mentally prepared.

Does anyone have any experience of something similar that they'd be willing to share? I assume that being a little before due date it's more likely that it'll require induction with a drip which might be quite intense. I also know that as baby is small there's a greater risk of stress during labour and possible complications / c-section, and a greater risk of baby needing neonatal care afterwards.

I want to be open-minded and as relaxed as possible about everything (thankfully I do really trust the hospital so that's no issue!), but think it would be really helpful to hear others' experiences. In the end obviously I just want baby here safe and sound.

I can't give advice but I'm waiting on results back to determine wether I will need to be induced early too.

I’ve been induced at 37 weeks and it was honestly fine.

I had the pessary and the gel but I found it a positive experience. They broke my waters for me too and I didn’t need the drip.

Induction at 37 weeks because of pre ecamplsia. Didn't work after after trying for 3 days and had a c section. Lovely chilled out experience. Had to take it easy for a few weeks but nothing like as bad as recovery from ventouse

Not quite as yearly as you but I was induced at 38+6 due to my waters going but no contractions. I only needed the pessary and from insertion of that to baby was 4.5 hours with gas and air and a tens machine.

Labour was more painful than my first (natural, 11 days overdue) but that was because I dialated extremely fast 4cm to 10 in about a minute.
