Pain to one side of tailbone

Hi
I am 23 weeks pregnant and have had a relatively uneventful pregnancy so far. However, I have a pain to one side of my tailbone / coccyx which has progressively got worse over the past week. It started as a noticeable ache but it has got so bad now that I can barely walk. I went to a yoga class on Saturday thinking it might help, but it has actually made it worse!
Reading online, a painful coccyx seems to be quite a common pregnancy symptom, so I wasn't too worried at first. However, I just remembered that I lost my balance on the stair a day before I noticed the pain and landed quite abruptly on the side where the pain is. I didn't think much of it at the time as I didn't feel any pain (just a bit of a shock) but I am beginning to think this pain is an injury caused by my minor fall.
I am planning to call the midwife tomorrow but just wondered if anybody has experienced anything similar?

Yeah, mine came and went. I got my DH to massage it which hurt like he'll but it was the muscles tightening around it. Once I'd got through the pain it was a relief. Still het it occasionally but now I just either massage it or use those lvendar heat by things to ease the pain. Doesn't seem to last for too long for me though so maybe I'm lucky. Defo phone midwife to double check though if you've bashed it.

Yes, I've had the same. Found that sleeping with a pregnancy pillow, having a warm bath at night and getting a well-fitting bra were three things that massively, more than I could have even predicted, helped.

Does it feel like it wants to pop?

I locked my SI joint and my tailbone wanted to pop out. Took three chiropractor appointments to sort.

Yes, I have this exact pain! I think mine is pelvic girdle pain or sciatica as I haven't bumped it in anyway.

Only thing that helps me is lots of rest, if I get a good nights sleep its much more bearable the next day and painkillers. Go see your GP and ask to be referred for physio as it can take weeks.

Feel your pain OP!

You could try stretching your glutes/ massaging with a tennis ball on the painful side, then ice for 15 mins. A chiropractor would be your best bet for a proper assessment and solution.
