So this has been bugging me since booking apt. A week ago.
Basically my dad had an accident 20 yrs ago and due to the injury had a blood clot 8 weeks later. And has become for want of another word disabled / less abled since. 10 yrs after accident had another clot then again about 4/5 yrs ago. Which he's pretty convinced is due to his leg being less movable. However because there is no proof that the clot is due to this. The MW wants to refer me.
What do u think will happen.

They might do some blood tests to see if you're more prone to clotting. They might prescribe you clexane and/or aspirin. You might get offered more ultrasound scans.

Ah the dreaded celexaine lol. Had that after a previous op. Passed out after every injection 💉 lol. Luckily that was only 5 days. But if that's the case then so be it, will do whatever I need to Do Obviously.

I have a fanily history of dvt also have thrombophilia myself. Thankfully never had a clot tho. Have been put on dispersable asprin until consultant on 5/9. Hoping not to go on clexine. Previous pregnancies i had regular bloods and scans but that was 16yrs ago so dont know what to really expect this time around. Hope all goes well x

I had a blood clot in first pregnancy which led to preterm labour at 27 weeks. I was told to take 75mg aspirin from getting bfp and then put on Clexane at 23 weeks and advised to wear compression socks when at home. I didn't have any extra apts until after 16 week apt (which I actually had at 19 weeks) then regular scans because of previous pre term labour.

I have family history of DVT, my mum had blood clot at age 32 once from combined pill.

I was seen by consultant after my dating scan at 13 weeks. They advised to start aspirin asap daily until delivery. And at 28 weeks I will start daily injections of heperin (blood thinner) until 6 weeks post birth. They did no tests to check if I have a blood clotting disorder. But said regardless due to family history I'm still classed as more at risk so it's preventative doses.

Not looking forward to it exactly, but hey needs must.

Thank you. My DS was only 4 days early. But never was asked by midwife or Concerned as dad had only had one clot at that point. But now because it's 3. Is the reason the want referral. I have noticed how much more veiny and achy my legs are. Not painful though. I have just done a thread on the veins..
