Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me, im extremely anxious following 2 miscarriages one at 7 and one at 13 weeks. I normally have 30 day cycles and i think i ovulated early on cd14 this cycle, my app says i should be 7 weeks today. I have been for an early scan today and the sonographer was so quick it was unreal, she pointed to a blob and said thats the baby and theres a heart beat and dated me 6+4. I am delighted of course to see a heart beat, however abit anxious of the date, if anything I thought I would be slightly ahead as ovulated early?
I wondered if anyone else was days behind on their scans but then caught up after?
Thank you

It's not unusual for baby to be slightly in front of behind at that stage. They often catch up by the 12 weeks scan. I can see why you'd be anxious, but just remember that once you've seen a heartbeat, your risk of miscarriage has already dropped. Try not to worry. Hope all goes well for you.

Hi OP. I had an early scan at 7 weeks and they put me at 6+1 which made me so worried about the dates being a week behind what I should be. Had another scan at 9 and then 10 weeks and caught up with my dates perfectly. The sonographer told me that at the first scan that the machines can be up to 5 days out when it's that early on, and your dates might not be exact etc. And if you saw a heartbeat that's a really good sign! I've got another private scan tomorrow (should be 11+5), slightly bricking it but staying positive Smile

You'll be fine I'm sure of it, the odds are in your favour anyway at this stage! Just got back from our private scan and what a difference in size from the last one and a nice strong heartbeat which we listened to Smile. Baby was sleeping though so wasn't moving about much! We can relax and enjoy our holiday now (flying tomorrow) until the dating scan when we get back. I forgot to mention that I understand your need for reassurance as I had a MMC in January, hence the scan obsession! You will be fine, try to relax and enjoy the amazing journey Smile

As other posters have said, scans so early are not all that accurate.

I had IVF so i knew exactly how far I was. They dates me 7+6 when I was 7+3.

Fingers crossed for you.
