What swim wear? 21 weeks pregnant

Hi ladies, need your help urgently.
Situation: I'm flying to Lanzarote at the end of the month, pool and beach type holiday with DP for a week. I have no idea what swim wear to buy for this.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and will be about 24 weeks when we fly. I have a lot little chunk, especially on my thighs. I have a little bump, but not enough to fill a maternity swimsuit I think.

I also went through an eating disorder in my teens, and as this is my first ever beach/ pool holiday, the whole thing is causing me so much anxiety (I'm 25)

Any suggestions on the type of thing I could get away with? Sad

I went on holiday at around the same time and although my bump wasn't big my boobs had grown so I couldn't fit any of my usual swimwear. I went for a tankini from Jojo, which was very flattering and had bottoms that kept everything in place.

Bikini or tankini, perhaps one with a skirt in the bottoms. Without wishing to downplay your eating disorder, which I appreciate must have been difficult, pregnancy is the one time in life when you're suppose to have a big tummy and carry a bit of fat so relish the time and don't worry about getting it out! Practice bump rubbing and loud baby talk so anyone near knows you're pregnant not fat! And most of all enjoy your hols.

This sort of thing. The bump panel on the bottoms can be folded over to sit over your hips if you don't feel you have enough bump!

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll look for those types.

@Orangedaisy don't worry about it, I completely agree that this is the time when I'm supposed to put on weight.

I wish I could get that tattood on my forehead "PREGNANT NOT FAT" haha

@ welshweasel oh that's a nice one! I wish maternity stuff came in more patterns/colours, but that one is my new fallback, thank you :)

I have the tankini that Welshweasel linked to and love it! I wore it on holiday at 28 weeks and wear it regularly for aquanatal/swimming. I'm not very confident of my body but have felt in pregnancy it's been the first time I've started to not care what others think, I am how I am and I don't care what anyone else thinks. All that matters is baby is safe and well!!

I just came in the thread to recommend that exact same tankini.

I'm a bikini girl usually. But just didn't feel comfortable this summer. It's great! Looks good is comfy etc etc.

I went to Hawaii at 24 weeks, I didn't have enough bump for maternity suits either so I bought a couple new swim suits and took some older suits and bikini's with me as well intending to wear what I felt comfomfortable in at the time, which much to my surprise, turned out to be a bikini!! I just looked fat in the swimsuits which kinda held me in but I looked preggers in the bikini :)
I also bought a little black sun/pool dress from M&S which was brilliant

Have a great holiday :)

I hope it's okay to jump on your threat Darcy. I'm going to Turkey in 5 weeks time when I'm 26 weeks pg so I'm on the lookout too for swim wear. My problem is my bust size is 34GG/ size16 which is getting a bit snug now. I normally get my tankinis from Bravissimo but it don't think the do a maternity range... I like the Jono Mama but I don't think the bust will be big enough for meSad any suggestions anyone?

Sakura I was 34gg pre pregnancy and was frustrated at the lack of bra sized maternity swimwear. I bought a curvy kate tankini from brastop and customised it with a bit of sewing. You might get away without it though, the CK tankini tops are quite generous around the tummy.

This looks like a bargain www.brastop.com/curvy-kate-luau-love-tankini-top-flamingo
Brastop do free returns and free delivery on £75+ so I'd order a load to try on and get them sent back before your credit card bill.

Sakura I'm a 34ff and I had a blooming marvellous maternity tankini which was brilliant. I was about a 12 and bought a 14 maternity and it fitted. It's the only time I've been able to buy 'normal' swimwear!
