Is the 2nd bump always bigger?

With my first pregnancy, I was starving for a couple of weeks only, didn't put much weight on and had a neat bump

I'm now 9 weeks pregnant with my second, cannot stop eating, and already have a bump (although I think this is just a good baby!)

Is the 2nd bump always bigger as you have already "stretched" once? And do you get fatter?!

I'm going to be a beached whale at this rate

I was smaller with dd2 - had to go in for extra scans as I was measuring small! 8lb baby bang on time though. So in my experience no Smile

I was smaller too, quite neat actually instead off ballooning everywhere like my first. Both boys.

Dd was also like ds2.

I'm exactly the same as you. I'm bigger all round this time and haven't stopped eating. No help, but you're not alone!

I'm 15 weeks and am sure I am bigger now than I was at the same point with DD. With DD I had no appetite, no nausea and a very neat bump, this time I've been starving, quite nauseous which can only be helped by carbs and just feel fatter! Sorry no help either but you're not alone! Smile

I was smaller in my second pregnancy, both boys and similar birth weights.

I was way smaller on my second.

I'm smaller with my second. I'm 25 weeks and still don't really look pregnant

I ate like a pig in my first pregnancy and have done so in this one too (no self control). I've taken a weekly 'bump photo' both times and when I compare them, I look exactly the same as I did first time round. I'm 37 weeks now and actually measuring a little bit smaller this time but I look the same to me.

I've got smaller each time with all 3! So nope.

I should have said - I did show a bit earlier this time though.

I really don't understand this!? A good baby?

No, I was significantly smaller second time around, but the baby was almost 1lb heavier when she came out. I was still in my pre-pregnancy jeans at 22 weeks. I did however have HG :/
DS then DD

Sorry - I meant to say food baby instead of good baby!

I felt bigger earlier on with DD2 (probably, like you, due to the fact I had to keep eating to stop the constant nausea), but in the later stages of pregnancy I think it evened out and I was about the same size as first time round. So I wouldn't worry that just because you're a bit bigger now you'll necessarily end up huge.

I was generally bigger as I felt better the second time and ate more!! But my bump was a similar size and my baby was almost a pound lighter than the first

Yep. Way way bigger.

I am way bigger this time.
I looked fat with DD until around 28 ish weeks. I'm 19 weeks and have a very obvious bump! I like it though Smile

I got bigger quicker with dc2 but then plateaued at the same size for ages.
I figure it's like billowing up a balloon twice - easier the second time but still ends up the same size! Grin

I think I showed earlier with DC2, but actually am currently smaller than I was at the same stage (30 weeks) with DC1.

I gained weight differently - first time slowly but surely, lb or 2 a week or thereabouts; second time piled it all on v quickly (over a stone by 20 weeks) and then it slowed right down and I gained v slowly the last few months (not on purpose, was eating plenty, my body just processed it all completely differently).
Put on a couple of stone both times and ended up pretty much the same size both times (was in mat gear earlier with 2nd but only because of sickness - couldn't cope with buttons etc digging in to my tummy!). Had a DD then a DS, both weighed almost the same. You'll even out, don't worry Smile

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with DC2 but this is my 6th pregnancy so was expecting to be huge! Despite feeling like a waddly whale, my bump is actually quite a bit smaller this time round than with DD1 but also a lot lower.

I'm smaller and showed a lot later with ds2, but also put on less weight overall..

Midwives did tell me you show earlier and have a bigger bump earlier on in your second pregnancy but then you grow into your bump so end up similar size at term

God I hope not. First baby I had a nap measurement over 95th centile the whole time and I'm only 5'2" so really was all belly. Kept getting sent for growth scans and tested for diabetes. Nothing wrong with us thankfully. In my defence I did grow a 10lb baby. Only 5 weeks with n2 so time will tell.

I was definitely smaller, differently shaped and the baby was a tad smaller too.

Bump was more defined, but no extra weight anywhere else second time and I measured small (2-3wks behind). I also went over the second time, when I was early with my first. Second baby was half a pound lighter and I put on less weight in total. I put on weight differently in my pregnancies too. I lost weight in my first tri with my eldest and put on 1/2 stone with my second.
