Shall I just go up??

The last time I did, they put "showed up unannounced" & now make a very big deal about telling me to call before I go!

Can you ring your midwife?

Is your MAU open today? At my local hospital they're only open Monday-Friday 9-5. Outside of that you need to call labour ward. Could it be similar at your hospital?

I can call the midwife but they'll just tell me to ring the assessment unit as I'm 35 weeks.

Is there a main switchboard number?

McBaby · 11/03/2017 19:06

I would try any other numbers you have labour ward, triage etc and see if anyone can help and advise you.

Go up. Offer to print out your phone records for them and management if they say anything.

I finally managed to get through!

Came in, seen pretty quickly and now on the monitor.

Sister just came over to ask if I was now reassured Confused

Well no Karen im not reassured given the fact that he's kicking as it says he is on the monitor but I can't feel it!

4 weeks & 6 days can't come soon enough!!

The doc just said that the placenta will no longer cushion the kicks given that I'm 35 weeks.

She said that if I feel kicks then il feel them all the time not sometimes.

Just had a scan

I had a similar experience when 37 wks w DS2. I had a fully anterior placenta and baby was back to back for the what seemed the entire pregnancy so I had arms, legs, knees, elbows, hands and feet constantly moving. Sometimes it was quite painful and my abdo muscle took a battering. But then one day very little movement. I had some, but not much and certainly no where near what o had before. I went to the unit to be checked out and the midwife was very annoyed with me for wasting time, saying that I had had plenty of movement in the time frame described but obviously they HAD to check me now blah blah blah. But MY point was that there had been a huge change, not that there was no movement. And that's the important part, any deviation from the norm is what is important. She was a silly stupid midwife. It turned it that he had turned around so was not back to back any more, he was getting ready to exit as he was born 3 days later. So yes, it was entirely justified to check if all was ok. I actually bought a Doppler this time to save myself going in again unless I'm very worried.

Luckily I've had nothing but lovely midwives & doctors who've taken me seriously.

So much so that they are giving me a scan on Thursday!

I have a Doppler too which I hardly use now, I did use it earlier but felt it was better to just go in.

Hopefully I will find out more from the obstetrician on Thursday as it's been my 6th time going in!
