When did your stretch marks come through?

I'm 31+2 today, wasn't overweight or big before pregnant so my skin isn't too used to stretching like this, but I'm on target for my bump etc and I only have one stretch mark that's about a centimetre long, and no signs of others... is this normal? When did people generally have their bigger ones start becoming noticeable? I've checked and there isn't signs of any more coming just yet, maybe I'm lucky or is this normal and then by next week it'll be like BAM, I'm a tiger?Grin

Also, my belly button is an innie but it feels like it's about to pop out at any point- is this normal?!Confused

I didn't get any until about a week after I'd given birth...not sure how normal this is though!

Mine have been gradually appearing over the last month (I'm 35 weeks tomorrow) and show no sign of slowing down! That said, my skin has always been prone to tiger stripes so I'm not shocked, just hopeful they'll fade quickly and I won't get too many more!

I didn't get any - you might be lucky!

I got loads of stretch marks during puberty so was really scared that I will be covered in them when I fell pregnant. But, first time around I didn't get any until DD1 was 5 weeks. I foolishly stopped using my cream once she was born (used Dermamum - smells awful but worked great). It was only a few on each side of my belly button.
During second pregnancy I only got a few more around the existing ones when I was 39 weeks, but this time I continued to moisturise after birth, and now they are barely noticeable.

DC1 - None during pregnancy but I noticed just a funky little zig zag the day after birth

DC2 - 32 weeks pg and I was covered but he was much bigger

I didn't get any either. I was waiting for them to all come at once, but nothing.

I didn't get any with either pregnancy. I thought it was my liberal use of bio oil but had a midwife tell me during my first pregnancy that it's genetic and you'll either get them or you won't. Not sure if that's remotely true but I didn't get any during my second pregnancy either.

The only ones I got through pregnancy were in my inner thighs near my bum cheeks, guessing through pushing? None anywhere else during both my pregnancies.

Ahh okay, so I may be lucky or I may still get some; my mother's stomach was shredded from being pregnant with me and I wasn't even seven pounds... so I may be lucky or there's still time for them to come Blush

Mine showed after birth they are white not red and under my bump so maybe I didn't notice them while pregnant as I couldn't see them. No new ones with dd2.

Currently 31+4 with dc3 and not spotted any new ones.

I didn't get any either and my mum got tons when pg with me. I used palmers cocoa butter.

To be honest though when my beautiful little girl was born 15 days ago I seriously couldn't have give a shit if I was covered from head to toe because the feeling of absolute love and joy at her arrival was overwhelming. Even if you do get a couple, they just prove how remarkable your body is! Xx

3 very fat babies and not a stretch mark from any of them. I did get some on my hips during puberty, so I'm not immune. But I moisturised aaaaall the time throughout each pregnancy and it seems to have helped. Good luck (have to say, my tummy still looks like a saggy deflated balloon, even without stretch marks - I suspect I could do sit ups until the end of time and it would still look like that)

Twin pregnancy first and didn't get a single one. Second and third pregnancies were singletons and I got just a couple on either side of my belly button. I got told by my midwife that your likelihood to have stretch marks was somewhat dependent upon whether your DM had any (mine didn't with four pregnancies) but that could just be an old wives tale Hmm

None with my first, 38 weeks with my second. But they went away once he was out.

2 DDs, no stretch marks. I gained about 25 lbs with both babies and massaged my bump everyday. That said I think genetics must play a big role. My Mum gained 55 lbs carrying me ( fertility treatment in the seventies ) and only got a couple of very tiny marks on her tights.

I thought I had got away with it. Then happened to see underneath my bump one day. They were all hiding there. Sad

Got a couple right near the end of my 1st pregnancy, I'm 31 weeks with the 2nd and already have a few new ones this time round. I honestly don't mind them though!

Right near the end. I think 38 weeks ish? I thought I'd escaped until that point!

They looked awful straight after birth but they faded really quickly.
