Hi guys, looking for some advice please im 38+4 today and ive been having lots and lots of pressure the past few days second baby was induced on my first so have never went into labour naturally I got a sweep today at my hospital appointment since then I've still been feeing pressure on and off but I seem to have diarrhea now too and not sure if it means the start of something or its normal. Thanks in advance for any replies

Pressure isn't really a sign (I've been having this for weeks now and midwife said it's normal)

However dioriah IS a sign. It's very common for your body to 'clear itself out' just before labour begins. This happened with my first baby at 39 weeks. I had bad dioriah then once it was all out labour begun.

Good luck if it's the start :)

Sounds like things are definitely moving along, could be slow could be quick! Did the midwife say how many cm you are dilated?

I say if the pains get quite bad but tolerable, take some paracetamol or coco cocodamol if they are that bad. If that bad and wait it out, see if you get any tightening along with the pain, say 20/10 mins apart. Give triage a call and tell them the situation. Once the pains become too much then go to the hospital so you can get checked by a midwife, and for more pain relief!

Hi Mel, diarrhoea can definitely be a sign that things are starting to progress, i had it the day before i went in to labour with my Son. It is your body's way of clearing everything out in preparation. Hope you don't have too long to wait. Best of luck!
