Two days in to the worst cold I've ever had. Streaming snot, pounding head, weak as a kitten, just made myself sick with coughing so much. Am 17 weeks I just have to wait this out? Nothing seems safe to take. I'm miserable! Please send me your pregnancy safe cures!

Paracetamol, hot drinks (Ribena my favourite when poorly), rub vix vapour all over (can you use in pregnancy?), bed! flowers

Phone your doctor if you feel really rubbish, they might be able to advise something stronger that's safe!

Thanks YerTiz...spent a good while eyeing up the Vicks vaporub last night but internet googling was a bit inconclusive whether it was safe when pregnant. I should call doctor, I just feel a bit pathetic calling for a cold!

Years ago (DS now 17), I had the most appalling cold. Nothing helped, so I phoned the surgery, who said Otrivine is okay. Cannot confirm that this is current advice, but it saved my life then.

I had a stinker of a cold a few weeks ago and covered myself in Vicks vapours. Pretty sure I looked it up and it said it was ok to use?

I had horrible hayfever when pregnant and the pharmacist wouldn't give me anything - my doctor was really good and prescribed me something. So you can try your pharmacist first (or send someone else on your behalf so you can rest!) but if no joy and you're suffering do speak to your doctor.

Can I join? 18 weeks and full of cold too. My sinuses down the left hand side are all blocked and I feel rotten. I've been taking the occasional paracetamol and some baths with some Epsom salts to bring my body temperature down. Hot squash has helped too.
Woe is us! sad

I'm 37+3 and just over a horrendous cold. Still have the cough which is killing my pelvis and stomach muscles (totally forgot I had stomach muscles grin)

I used the albus inhaler which I was told was safe to use. Also just hot blackcurrant and paracetamol religiously every 4hrs. Hot baths were also a God send.

It really does sucks! Hopefully yours clears soon! flowers

ook pull up a blanket...there's plenty space on this sofa for fellow sufferers! I've not tried paracetamol... it generally does nothing for me when I'm not pregnant so dubious it will help me now, but may give it a shot! Currently desperate!
