Not feeling baby move

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and have been feeling my baby kick and move for the past 2 and a half weeks constantly every day, since yesterday I haven't felt any movement or kicking and I'm getting really worried as it's not normal for him to not kick as he has been doing a lot everyday lately.... any advice appreciated right now 😣

You're not supposed to track movement until 28 weeks
Before this the baby is small enough to turn and move without being felt.
He may have just moved to a bit where u can't feel him. I wouldn't worry.

I'd call your urgent midwife number on the front of your notes qnd ask them dor advice. They will probably suggest drinking a very cold drink then lie down on your left side and see if you can feel anything, give it 20 minutes. They may get you in on a monitor to check baby is ok.
Good luck, it's scary when you don't feel them, my baby is 23 weeks and I had 2 days of reduced movement just this week.

Call your midwife/hospital and go to be checked over. You won't be able to settle until you get him checked! They'll be able to listen in and hear him for you Smile

I agree with Expecto, however when this happened to me around the same gestation I called the on-call midwife who told me to come in the next day to find the heartbeat with a doppler and give me some reassurance. Don't suffer alone, the midwives won't mind seeing you if you tell them you're worried :)

PS I don't think they'll put you on a monitor at 21 weeks because iit's not designed to pick up such small babies! They'll probably use a doppler.

Not saying for definite they won't, just didn't want you to worry they weren't checking properly they didn't use the monitor :)

Epoxy is right, they won't use a ctg monitor but they will listen with a doppler - they can't use a ctg until 26 weeks :)

Call the maternity assessment clinic (there should be a contact number in your maternity notes) and ask them for advice. It's probably fine, but they will know how to make sure.

My son was a bugger for being still and quite, so I'd go in to be checked and he'd start jumping around all over the place. I'm sure they thought I was making it up! Grin

They were always lovely, though.

I agree with the above posters! Try a cold drink and lie down. If nothing, call your midwife.
My thinking is better putting your mind at rest than worry.

There should be a number on your notes for the Antenatal clinic or maternity assessment unit which is 24 hours. Your midwife won'the be on duty now.
I've been in twice for reduced movement and they've always been lovely.

Try something very sugary, an iced cupcake or full fat can of cold Coke/ Fanta/ Dr Pepper etc. Your baby's still so small they can easily get into a position you can't feel him/ her. Sugar got mine doing a dance 9 times out of 10! CakeFlowers

The newest guidance is get everything checked over; call the number on your notes and get have a once over. Cold drinks and rest is now old guidance; too many ladies were slipping through the net, they'd far rather check you over and give you reassurance / pick up anything that is wrong. Wishing you well!

In my notes I got given the number for antenatal ward. I actually ended up calling the postnatal ward by accident and the midwife who answered had a chat to me and forwarded me to the right person!
Check which other numbers you have.

To be fair it is Saturday evening- midwives don't work 24 hours a day, they are allowed time off too! Call maternity assessment, they are open 24 hour.

Call the maternity unit if you're worried.
Your baby has probably turned and is kicking towards your back. This is very common.
Your baby is about the same size as a carrot right now so quite easy to get lost.

They will only check for the heatbeat if you get seen as it's too early for an ECG
