I have an 8 and 4 yr old and not sure when the best time is to tell them that I am PG.(Only 5ish weeks at the moment!)
Wait until 12 weeks? Or longer, until I am more obviously showing? I think they will get bored of the idea if I tell them too soon!
What did you lot do?

My DD guessed! She was not quite 3 at the time. I was about 5 weeks pregnant and had been hoovering the upstairs, when I suddenly had to lie down on her bed as felt a bit woozy. She came over to me, all concerned, and said "Mummy, you got a baby in your tummy?" !!!! I swear neither me or DP had given her any hints! So I just said "maybe one day". Then we told her properly about 2 weeks later as DP and I kept talking about it with other people we had already told, and I thought it best to.

She has been great really, not impatient or anything. She knows that mummy has to get really fat first, so I keep showing her my expanding tum (am now 20 weeks) and saying I still have to get a lot fatter yet...

I have a dss who's 5, we told him around 16 weeks, to give him time to get used to it and also we didn't want him to hear from other people that we'd told. He asks questions occasionally like is the baby still not here yet and as I didn't show til about 28 weeks he'd ask if it's still in there! Now he's very excited, talks to the baby very often and keeps asking how many days til the baby's here! 45 and counting!
