Tightenings after a sweep

I'm 40+3 and had my second sweep yesterday. Immediately afterwards they listened to baby and commented how I was getting some tightenings, I had to have a ctg monitor for a while because baby's heart rate was high and had one big tightening while on it. Ever since I have been having them, very irregular, some hurt a little some are just uncomfortable. Has this happened to anyone else? And did they come to anything? I'm booked in to be induced on Wednesday but would really like him to come naturally

In exact same position as you!!

Had a sweep yesterday and midwife said I was almost fully effaced and 2cm dilated, had loads of tmi bleeding/mucus yesterday and today, and seriously strong tightenings and pain during last night which went away after 3 hrs and irregular tightenings today that so far havent come to anything... I'm booked in for induction on the 28th.

My midwife said the sweep can take about 48 hrs to work (if its going to work) but I think the tightenings are a good sign!!

Sorry i dont have any more experience to offer advice Blush but good luck to you!! X

Thank you, good luck to you too. Baby is currently going crazy, he's moving so much tonight it's a bit strange....he's not usually this active! What is going on?! 😂

Sometimes I have nights like that and in then the next day he's very quiet as if he's tired himself out!

How are you today, any more tightenings?

I had three seers with DD. The first did nothing. The second loosened the plug and I lost it the next day and had loads of Braxton Hicks. The third set it all off. I went into labour about 24hrs later really suddenly. Good luck. If you've got tightening then it won't be too long. I was booked in for induction the day after I finally went into labour but I never got there. Xxx

I've been getting tightening for about a week now, I'm almost 39 weeks. I was hooked up today while they listened to baby and they could see it, she just said its probably Braxton hicks.
